Perfect Shift Transmission Repair

These guys did a wonderful job on my Yukon. Not only did they do the transmission rebuild, but they also did some other work that I needed done on the car. They were good and quick. The transmission ended up having some issues and they quickly handled it under warranty with no problems at all. I had a great experience with Perfect Shift, and would happily go back to them for any work I needed without hesitation. Great communication. Great pricing. Outstanding work.

My 2014 ford focus was “shuddering” on take off so I figured something was up with the transmission. I happen to drive by this company so I figured I’d give them a call. It was only about $60 to do a complete diagnosis and if you have them make the repair and that’s included in the cost. They checked it out and everything was good, except the transmission and which needed to be overhauled. They gave me an estimate and while transmission repair isn’t cheap, they did offer some discounts that helped make it a little better (AAA, Military, 1st responder, cash). This was all done digitally so all I had to do was click approve to have them do the work. When they got it done, they sent me the bill and it was more than the estimate that I approved. When I called them, they said their person had put the wrong clutch on the estimate, and the one that was actually needed was much more expensive. However, without me even asking, they said they would honor the lower price that I had approved. I was very impressed with them throughout this whole process. They kept me updated on the status of the vehicle and then to take responsibility for the billing error without me even asking is almost unheard of nowadays. The als give you a 24 month, 12000 mile warranty to boot. It appears that their values align with mine which are Integrity first, service before self, and excellence and all they do. Based on all of the above, I do recommend you consider them if you need transmission work.

Great work on my OBS 4L60 and the 5.7 i really value the work this shops did to me Mr Guillermo is a man of his word he's good he's good on his word I really appreciate his good business and all his stuff is great his whole staff great mechanics and his office everybody's great thank you.

I found this shop through Facebook Marketplace while looking for a transmission advertised at $1,700. I asked upfront if the transmission photograph matched the unit I needed (60L90), and they said yes. I then proposed a quick swap so I could get back on the road as soon as possible. Things started to unravel quickly after that. When I arrived at the shop, I was introduced to Guillermo and we began unloading the my partially disassembled transmission. It became clear very soon that the unit I was to pick up was not in stock as mentioned previously. Guillermo his office confused my transmission with another lighter duty version , said they would rebuild the transmission I brought, but this would require substantial additional time and money. They presented several options, including rebuilding my unit within a few hours for an extra $600 fee, which would have increased my total to about $2,300. They also saw the pump on my unit was damaged, which would add roughly $800 more. Faced with all these options and uncertainties, I opted to buy a brand-new transmission elsewhere rather than proceed with their suggested repairs. So we loaded my parts back into my truck From that point, I that evening I started noticing more issues. I later discovered that the valve body provided back to me did not match my original valve body I went in with, even though I had taken photos showing the correct part numbers and serial numbers. The next morning, I called the shop to inform them of the mix-up. The girl I spoke with said they would call me back, but I never received a return call. I ended up driving back to the shop and waited while they conducted meetings and lunch breaks. After a long wait, they finally brought me another valve body, and I could verify it matched my unit by serial numbers and part numbers — except the aluminum valve body itself was not mine. Between about 4:30 PM 8/28 and 11:30 AM 8/29 l, my valve body had disappeared. Guillermo suggested I should just buy a new one, which would have been acceptable to me if not for the enormous price discrepancy: $1,000 at the dealer. I’m left wondering who is responsible for this mess. I hope the mix-up was a genuine mistake and not intentional, but I didn’t even have the chance to become a paying customer due to the chaos and mismanagement. Ultimately, I ended up purchasing a used valve body for $289 plus tax on eBay, which won’t arrive until Wednesday because of the holiday. I am seeking reimbursement for the used part I had to buy or, at minimum, the return of my original part. I don’t think this request is unreasonable given the circumstances. My experience feels like bait-and-switch, and it left me with a very sour impression. I’m hoping for a resolution that addresses the miscommunication, the mishandling of my parts, and the additional costs I incurred. Until then, I’m keeping my negative review in place.
