Universal Imports of Rochester

I had a really great experience with Universal Imports of Rochester. From the start, communication was excellent and they made the whole process very easy and stress-free. They kept me updated throughout and were always straightforward and responsive. Hunter and his team really went above and beyond to help get my car fixed. You can tell they genuinely care about helping their customers and making sure everything is done right. Honestly, they were some of the easiest people I’ve worked with, and that makes a big difference when you’re dealing with car repairs.

I'm pleased to report a very positive experience with Universal Imports last week near the middle of January 2026. While visiting in Rochester up from Maryland, my very well maintained 2013 Jaguar XF 3.0 Supercharged all-wheel-drive with only 100 K miles started throwing me a variety of error messages and fault codes. It also had irregular starting, but would take a jump and was showing a "healthy battery," on testing. For anyone who doesn't know, Jaguar is going through. Its death rebirth cycle and its future is unclear, and the dealer network is in a state of flux. The Rochester authorized Jag Repair shop was polite, but full and I needed to return south immediately. They politely strongly recommended their nearby, neighbors, Universal Imports and I'm glad they did. Service director, Erin Symonds listened to my feedback and diagnostics as I am Hey Jaguar Club of North American participant and multi Jaguar owner with some degree of Jaguar knowledge, but I'm not a mechanic and did not have an OBD reader. Eventual diagnostic revealed primary battery and auxiliary battery. Both were intermittently failing causing ECU to very enough in output to trigger multiple erratic system failures. The neighboring Jaguar authorized repair center had parts in stock. Thank God and the car was turned around same day. I will add that Universal Imports as unassuming as it appears from the outside is very professional looking on the inside for a small independent import service facility that handles the import market. I drive through Central, New York and New England during Concourse competition season and I'm glad to have come across them and know that I have a solid resource available for future needs. Though of course I hope those would be by choice and not due to breakdowns! I'd be curious as to whether or not they would be skilled or knowledgeable in working on my V12.

Universal Imports did a fantastic job on some body work I needed performed on my Infiniti Q50. The results were top notch. I’ve also been very happy with service work provided previously. Great communication. I highly recommend Universal Imports.

We had a very good first experience with both having work done to car and for working with us to purchase a car with them. Everyone was very positive and were great to work with. I truely believe that I found a new garage I can trust and use in the future. Thank to kevin who I worked with to purchase our car and to mark ( owner) who I found to be a very fair guy to work with. I discovered a rear brake problem on my 2012 Acura MDX on a Saturday. The car was going on a long trip in days and this had to be fixed quickly. The service team at Universal got the car in to diagnose that day, and got parts Monday and had it back so that the planned trip could continue. Thanks Hunter. Great customer service!
