I had a great experience with Dowdy’s Automotive. I was able to make an appointment online for my truck, which was having a fuel pump issue, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. I needed to have it towed in the off hours, so the key drop-box was very convenient. One of the things I appreciated most was their text message communication. It made it easy to stay updated and respond while I was at work, without having to stop what I was doing for a phone call. That level of convenience really stood out. They did an excellent job fixing my truck, and everything has been running great since. On top of that, I felt their service prices were very reasonable, which is something I really value. Overall, I’m very happy with the experience and will definitely be taking my truck back to Dowdy’s for any future repairs. Highly recommend!

Scott and Savannah were great. Both were professional, honest and friendly. I have a 2017 F-150 with only 33k miles. I wanted an oil change, coolant flush, rear differential fluid and transmission filter and fluid changed. I called a few local places and Dowdy's was by far the most reasonable. Savannah had a quote to me within about 10 minutes as promised. I called back to make sure it was a transmission pan drop, drain and filter change (did not want a flush). Scott picked up and was awesome to deal with, he even asked questions because of the services I was requesting. He said they would test the coolant first to make sure it needed to be changed. I made an appt. I showed up the next week when they opened. Scott verified all the services again and I asked about having the brake fluid tested as well due to the age. He added it to the list and told me they'd start with the oil change and to the inspection during it to test the other fluids and see if there were any other issues. Within one hour I received a text telling me the brake fluid and coolant were just fine and didn't need to be changed. Just after lunch I got a text my car was ready along with the entire paperwork of the services. It included pictures of the fluid tests, showing me exactly the results of the coolant and brake fluid status so I could see for myself the conditions and have peace of mind. I appreciated the honesty. Some places will just do the services without testing or questioning it, they're happy to take your money. Instead, Dowdy's saved me a few hundred dollars. I also appreciated the car was returned clean, no oil grub marks or extra dirt on the interior. I highly recommend Scott and Savannah at Dowdy's. I've tried a few other places here in Star, this was by far the absolute best experience from beginning to end. We will be back.

Exceptional service. Savannah was amazing. She was attentive and willing to accommodate my difficult schedule that week. Truly exemplified excellent customer service. The service techs identified the problem and solved it quickly and feel they were honest, fair, and reasonably priced. I will not hesitate to use your services again and recommend Dowdy's. Dowdy’s has been awesome. Their customer service is great; they use texts and phone calls professionally to keep me informed about every situation with my truck. Dowdy’s is also an old-fashioned auto shop, as they will fix the problem rather than just try to sell you more. For instance, I needed rear brake pads, and they replaced the pads and rotors, while others wanted to replace the rotors, pads, and calipers I am sorry but caliper replacement is not needed to replace pads, the rotors depends on damage and there was damage due to waiting too long to find a decent mechanic. Another example is a work truck that had a transmission light come on; other shops said they would replace the transmission, but Dowdy’s fixed the issue, saving us thousands of dollars because they took the time to repair it instead of just replacing.

I had a check engine light that showed a bad Catalytic converter. I was able to bring my truck in a couple of days later for a diagnostic check. They found that I did need a new converter and muffler. They also found a broken water hose connector that had broken and was leaking, they also found that my tie rod ends needed replacing. They competed the repairs in a very timely manner. Loved the photos sent of the needed work. I did need a front wheel alignment after and wished they told me to have it checked. Truck runs so much better now, much better gas mileage and the front steering is nice and tight. Will use them again. Highly recommended this shop.
