I was driving down the interstate and my car stopped accelerating. After a quick Google of nearby mechanics I stopped off at Trumans. I figured Id be stuck at the mechanic all afternoon but I wasn't. There was no BS. They got the car in and had new parts delivered to the shop with in the hour. The parts were all installed within less than another hour. Price was reasonable, actually lower than I was expecting.

If your looking for a local shop with competitive pricing and honest work ethics look no further than Truman's Auto, right outside of Altoona. I called Richard around 9am looking for my car to be seen by a mechanic after calling EVERY shop within a 10 mile radius, and Richard was able to fit me in and look at my car WITHIN 15 MINUTES of hanging up the phone with him. (My car was fixed with only 1 day at the shop, and they were down a mechanic even!!) Being myself, I am not super car savvy whatsoever, and Richard was able to diagnose my car and explain the issues to me; showing me which parts they would need in order to fix it. Richard even went as far as going in depth about the install and how the parts go on and bring functionality to the vehicle. I highly recommend this shop for any automotive needs, they are super honest and transparent on their pricing/installs, as well as giving top notch customer service and speeds with it. I’d give this place a thousand stars if I could! Not only are they honest, educated and friendly… they go above and beyond. I had the pleasure of working with Richard. He has a heart of gold and is trust him with my vehicle any day. Their communication and commitment is beyond the best I’ve ever had at a dealership. They don’t try & take advantage of those who don’t know much about cars & don’t try to Jack on a bunch of unnecessary “needs” that aren’t needed. I was referred to them by a co-worker after getting a ridiculous quote/opinion from another body shop. I’ll never take my business anywhere else and they will be at the top of my list for vehicle recommendations.
