I recently had a very disappointing experience with Michael's Toyota of Bellevue while bringing in our 2022 Toyota RAV4 for service. Our vehicle was making unusual noises, losing engine power when going uphill, and bogging down badly. We scheduled a preset appointment and dropped the vehicle off at 10:50 AM. Right from the beginning, I explained to the service representative that we also had a warranty on the vehicle. About two hours later, we received a text saying there was gravel under the skid plate and that it would cost $331 to clean it out. While I wasn’t happy with that amount, we were told this was the cause of the noise and that it needed to be done. Then, two more hours later, we were sent a bill for $447 with very little explanation and poor communication throughout the entire process. What made the experience even worse was that we had to contact the warranty company ourselves and initiate a three-way call just so the service representative would submit a claim. It felt like if we had not advocated for ourselves, no warranty claim would have been filed at all. For such a modern, updated, and impressive facility, I expected much better customer service, clearer communication, and staff who understood how to properly coordinate customer warranties. This was by far a frustrating and disappointing experience. The lack of communication, poor follow-through, and confusion around warranties made this visit far more stressful than it should have been. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions and stay on top of their own warranty claims if they choose to service their vehicle here.
