Detroit Tuned

I'm extremely happy with the outcome. I went in for one service ended up with another added to it. I had my timing chain replaced and at the same time they noticed my suspension needed an upgrade. Wow 😲 what a difference the moment I got in the car and I drove 400 miles home I felt like I was driving a new vehicle I'm extremely thankful and grateful. If you live anywhere within the vicinity and needed your mini to be worked on this is a very reputable, friendly, full service shop that looks out for you.

I had and continue to have my MINI Cooper serviced here. I can’t say enough positive things about Chad and his staff. Detroit Tuned is an honest shop with cheaper prices than the dealer for repairs and maintenance. Loaner cars are available which is incredibly convenient so if your car is in the shop for an extended period of time you don’t need to rely on Lyft/Uber.

Great place! Had a bunch of questions, since I’m new to MINI’s and they were extremely patient with me. Ha. They gave a real honest assessment of my car and helped to prioritize what should and could be done. I’d recommend them to anyone within the region. Definitely worth the drive. I was referred to you guys by multiple people. And my first couple of dealings were amazing, until my parts got here. Everything has gone on beautifully! Except the air intake. Zach priced my kit together as we were upgrading a lot of things from factory. I ordered intercooler, air intake, a tune, spark plugs, etc. The cold air intake was shipped from a different location and when it got to me it looked strange but whatever. While I like speed I don’t work on my own car! I take the parts to the shop and literally within seconds he calls me and tell me the intake elbow is cut but he’d try it anyways, it shouldn’t matter he just wanted me to know. A couple days go by and he calls me back to let me know the air intake elbow causes the air filter to be slammed into the engine. So I message the service people and they ask for pictures, which I provide. A video(which I can’t send over email, it’s to large but I’ve asked several times to send other ways with no response). I noticed while sending these photos not only is this elbow different form the photo the other piece used for attaching the two is black not blue but that isn’t seen so whatever. Zach or whomever reach out to nm and nm says they changed their design but assured me it would fit. I ask for additional part numbers to reorder this elbow in hopes that’s the issue. No response. So I order 3 different angled elbows from Amazon in hopes one can be used to attach this thing without it hitting the engine once the elbow is attached. No luck.during all this I notice there are two different listings for this kit possibly could be the issue I’m not sure no one there seems to care. I’m at my wits end asking for help. I would have gladly paid extra for a different kit I simply want a refund at this point for the intake. I don’t wanna do further business as I've been made to feel like I’m not valued. I wasn’t asking for a hand out just help beyond “check your installation process.” Very disappointed in the customer service. Response: your service department has never once offered any of this information in the weeks I have been trying to figure this out. That “considerable savings” is because the kit you are offering is a cheaper kit. These photos were sent to your service team communicating with me on March 17th! Again your team even questioned why it was cut, when I’m the one who received it like this. I was questioned if we had altered it, which we did not. Why didn’t he offer the trimming solution then. Again all I’ve been offered is “try your installation” which is garbage business on your end when I spent that much money with you! At this point I’m questioning if my ecu truly got tuned!

Great facility and super friendly staff! Was able to get some dyno time for my Porsche 718 to have it dialed in with my remote tuner. Highly recommend Detroit Tuned!
