Coconut Creek Subaru gave me the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Subaru service department, and I would not recommend bringing your vehicle there, even for warranty work. I have a 2018 Subaru STi with an extended warranty. I normally take my car to a local Subaru specialist for maintenance, but because my A/C was not cooling properly, I brought it here for the first time for the warranty service. I had also mentioned that my locking chirp had stopped working, and requested an oil change too. From the beginning, my experience with Joe, the service manager, felt off. I thought maybe he’d been having a tough day, I’m sure he deals with a lot of tough people. But I’m a friendly person, his abruptness was odd and I didn’t feel I could fully trust him from the start. Within five minutes of dropping off my car, I got a call from the sales department asking if I wanted to sell or trade it in. When I politely said no, the woman hung up on me. As a new customer, that felt unprofessional and off-putting. 1 out of 2 A/C issues were diagnosed and fixed, but claimed that there was no issue with my locking chirp. When you lock/unlock a Subaru, it has a little audible beep beep before the actual horn sounds, but it didn’t seem anyone actually knew what I was talking about…so I gave up trying to explain. I guess it’s not a big deal that it doesn’t work, it’s just that I’d like it to work and I thought they would be able to fix it for me. Just as I was leaving and had already signed the paperwork, the service manager stopped me and said they could replace the horns because one of them was not working. I found it odd that this was apparently a known issue, but not communicated until I was already walking out the door. I brought the car back in for the horns. They also apparently discovered another A/C issue and fixed that, while also replacing the horns. While I’m grateful for the AC repairs, the new horns did not fix the missing lock chirp. I didn’t even bother to say anything and just left without any intention on returning. The next day after this service was completed, I noticed my skid plate was hanging down off the bottom of my car. I went underneath to find that several of the push pin fasteners and screws were missing. I ended up having to zip tie it back up myself, and I’ll need to replace it as it is damaged. At this point, I hadn’t had any intentions on going back there, so I didn’t even bother because I knew it wouldn’t get me anywhere. Unfortunately, my AC issue persists - although it blows cold most of the time, when I’m sitting in traffic during the day the air blows warm. I decided to call up Joe one more time to see if I should bring it in again. Upon dropping my car off now for a 3rd time, he assured me that the AC should not be performing that way and they would look at it. I dropped the car off at 10:30 a.m. and heard nothing all day. At 3:30 p.m., I finally called for an update, only to be told that my car had been done for quite a while and that they found nothing wrong. No one ever called to tell me it was ready. I do not live nearby, so I had spent five hours waiting around for no reason. When I arrived back at the dealership, I expressed my frustration that no one had called me. If there is nothing wrong with the car, that’s fine, but to waste my entire day and then not offer even an apology is an oversight. It was apparent Joe could not have cared less, and only offered me an “I’m sorry you feel that way”. Did the service manager just gaslight me? Needless to say, I’ll never go back. I’m not sure I understand what the end game is with customer service like this. I’m not a complainer, or anyone who tries to take advantage. I just expected the basics. Given that this involved multiple warranty visits that still didn’t resolve the problem, I will likely be contacting Subaru of America about the experience.

🚨Warning🚨Avoid Subaru Service!!! (November 2025-January 2026) I left this dealership with WAY more problems than I originally had. My car sat parked outside, “untouched” for a week after I initially dropped it off for my appointment, and not once was I updated about any delays. Final result ended with a damaged headlight, dash cam damaged, defaced emblem, & car not functioning as it should. When in the history of clutch assembly does a “brand new” clutch pedal squeak and make creaking noises? After spending $6000.00 my main two concerns were NOT resolved, and to make matters worse, I kept having to return the car after discovering a multitude of problems the car never had prior. The entire unresolved ordeal took 2 months. If you’re interested in buying a brand new vehicle, congratulations. Subaru is known for its performance, excellent quality, and safety. If, however, you’re going for maintenance or repairs, I highly recommend staying as far away as possible from this retailer if you value your time, money, and overall mental health. 👎👎 🚨Update as of March 2026🚨 I took my car to a highly reputable and respected shop which specializes in Subaru, installations, maintenance, repairs, and modifications. The list (see below) indicates the issues and damages my car experienced AT Coconut Creek Subaru. This took place between November 2025, and January 2026. • Front passenger side headlight (damaged). • Badge emblem on intake (defaced/damaged). • Dashcam (damaged/no longer working). • Coolant line (damaged). • Damaged radiator. • Damaged hood struts. • Clutch related metallic spinning rattle sounds persist (much worse/louder * My request to fix the glove box was never addressed (glove box slams down when opening). After taking my car to a reputable shop, they were able to find quite a few things wrong with how Coconut Creek Subaru returned my car. * ALL of the exhaust manifold bolt holes were stripped (at Subaru). * Improper installation of exhaust components. * One bolt was missing (exhaust manifold components were loose). * Improper installation of intercooler. * Motor mounts were extremely worn (needed replacing). * Loose / faulty “new” improper installation clutch pedal (clutch master cylinder components - metallic noise rattle when accelerating). * Loose brake pedal components. The following I found myself. I noticed that a cover on the bottom left driver side (close to the pedals) which covers wiring was oddly loose. * An electric wire designated to my dash cam was deliberately cut, hence the device “not working”. These were all issues I had to handle after leaving Subaru and having payed them $6000.00 for the terrible service. The problem I originally went to the dealership for (“clutch related” metallic rattle) could have been resolved by simply replacing the motor mounts. Instead, Coconut Creek Subaru made claims that the noise was related to clutch assembly, high pressure fuel pump, etc. I spent way more money than I needed to. In summary, if you value your time, money, and overall wellbeing, do NOT take your vehicle to Coconut Creek Subaru for maintenance / repairs. On a positive note, I would like to thank service advisor Joe. He is very polite, and takes his job very seriously. On one of the many times I had to return the vehicle for obvious issues, he quickly got me back into a loaner and was very caring, and professional. He wasn’t even my original service advisor and yet he stepped up to assist. Thank you Joe
View on GoogleI have been driving for 68 years and purchased a fair number of cars. When the euphoria and smell of a new car begins to wear off the thoughts of service, how will I be treated, just how good will the mechanics be begins to enter your thoughts. Very simply stated when I purchased my Forester at Coconut Creek Subaru I hit the automobile lottery. My service manager, Mr. Marcus Bey, was everything I could have hoped for and much, much more. It began with a warm smile and hello and ended with "safe travels home"". The process was flawless - every question answered, patient and understanding, professional, competent, and truly committed to making me feel like one of the family. And of course the problem was diagnosed, corrected, and the Forester returned freshly washed, vacuumed , and ready for the ride home. Coconut Subaru deserves recognition as a wonderful Agency along with Marcus Bey, the very best of the best.
