Dax Automotive got my Sprinter van running better than it ever has. Dax is honest, knowledgeable, and offers very reasonable pricing. View on Google3 SHOPS MISSED IT. DAX GOT IT RIGHT. I own a 1991 Toyota MR2, and it’s more than just a car to me. As the second owner, I’ve always done my best to keep it in excellent condition. When it reached 100,000 miles, I took it to the dealership for a tune-up. Unfortunately, afterward the car just didn’t feel right. I brought it back for a follow-up visit, and while it improved somewhat, it still hesitated between gears and lacked the smooth performance I was used to. Looking for answers, I took it to a respected family-owned repair shop that has been serving customers for decades. Despite having an appointment, the car spent most of the day sitting in the lot and the problem remained unresolved. The next stop was another highly rated shop with several locations, but they declined the work because my MR2 predates the OBDII diagnostic system from 1996, which is used on newer vehicles to diagnose problems. Finally, I was referred to Dax Automotive. The difference was obvious right away. Dax quickly diagnosed the problem, (an error in dealership work). He explained their error and corrected it, and offered several practical, budget-friendly ideas to help restore the car’s original responsiveness and driving enjoyment. What impressed me most was the combination of technical knowledge and genuine care. Dax treated my MR2 like it mattered, not like an inconvenience because of its age. After striking out with multiple shops, it was refreshing to find someone who could accurately diagnose the issue and take the time to explain the solution. If anyone asks me where to take their vehicle for repairs or diagnostics—whether it's a classic car, a daily driver, or something in between—Dax Automotive will be at the top of my recommendation list.

As someone who is not a gear head, I appreciate their willingness to go over the details of the work (including showing me the worn parts before and after replacement) and answering all my questions about the estimate. They got my BMW X1 in and out in two days after replacing an engine mount and the water pump and thermostat assembly. As long as the shop stands, I will be a loyal customer.
View on GoogleHonest, fair pricing and truly good people - Neil was the absolute best when I just showed up after being referred there from Ziggy at Oriely's (another honest and very helpful automotive expert for another review). They fit me in same day, did diagnosis and charged me for the appropriate amount of labor time and cost for parts I couldnt have got same price for if bought myself. Had mechanic in Edmonds/Lynnwood now I have a new one in Mountlake Terrace.
