I’ve gone to Dave’s auto for many years, but over the summer, Edgar Vargas, a master mechanic purchased the business and opened it November 1, 2025. I own a 1987 Cadillac Deville that belonged to my mother and is in pristine condition. Both the heater as well as radiator had gone out. I was hesitant at first because not all auto shops offer good service like Dave did. The engine had also been leaking a great deal of oil and I mentioned that to Edgar. Edgar fix the heater and radiator, but upon examining the engine, discovered that it needed to have a complete rebuild in order for the car to function properly. He called numerous shops in the area, but they ALL REFUSED TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE OF It’s AGE. EDGAR DIDN’T GIVE UP!! He’s having the engine rebuilt by someone in eastern Washington that he has known for 20 years and I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Edgar impressed me with his honesty plus showing me exactly what was wrong with the engine. He is very dedicated to his profession and I’m so thankful for him.

My partner was looking to buy an older CR-V and we took it here for a buyers inspection today and Edgar had time to squeeze us in. When we came back Edgar was emphatic that we should avoid this car at all costs, and that the seller was asking way too much for it. He pointed out a broken EFI sensor, oil and radiator leaks, and thought the engine had probably been power-washed recently. Edgar didn't even charge us for the inspection because it was such a lemon. First time here and would absolutely bring my current car and any future vehicles here. Edgar was obviously passionate and very knowledgable, and was really generous with his time, pointing out the issues and what we should be looking for in the future. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely stellar repair shop! I started bringing my RAV4 to Dave’s after my warranty expired because the dealer (Swickard) kept upselling unnecessary services. I was really impressed with Dave’s honest diagnosis and fair pricing, so I was a bit nervous when Edgar took over the business. Luckily, Edgar and his team are just as reliable - very efficient and have excellent diagnostic skills. In addition to regular oil changes, I’ve had my spark plugs replaced here, and their pricing was even better than the dealership. They also identified a couple of maintenance issues that the dealer completely missed, though it turns out they’re not urgent. I appreciate that Edgar was upfront about this and just suggested keeping an eye on them for future maintenance appointments. On top of that, my glove compartment had been sticking for months - Edgar figured out the problem and fixed it in under two minutes! Great service, great people, and honest work every time.

The employees of Dave's auto service are amazing! All of them listened attentively, helped find solutions, and communicated pros and cons. They went above and beyond to help keep an old Honda accord running smoothly without shady sell tactics or sky rocket prices. I definitely and highly recommend this shop to everyone who needs a auto shop they can trust and rely on.
