Safelite AutoGlass

I had a weekend appointment scheduled for 2pm Saturday. Arrived early to complete paperwork and payment. I had my rear passenger side installed due to it shattering. Though I believe the cost was a bit high, I didn't complain due to the efficiency and speed of completion. I was there a total of 40 minutes. The staff were pleasant and helpful answering questions. I am very well pleased.

BAD EXPERIENCE! They showed up with the wrong glass window. They generally can't fix this the same day! You must reschedule for a different day due to your local locations route schedule. The manager at Safelite Fife had my CORRECT window physically in his facility. That is the location my appt was with. Even though it's Safelites mistake, they won't finish an extremely simple job today. It's my tiny quarter panel window. 2019 4Runner. The install guys said they were given the wrong window. They should probably be able to tell the difference from its box size! It's SEVEN times larger than the correct window. Telling us nobody checks at Fife Safelite to see if the staff who pick the orders provides the installers w/the correct parts! I had Saelite cust svc AND Safelite Fife on the phone at 1:45 PM. At the same time. Two phones. This short overtime job would have been in beautiful 70 degree weather. It's gorgeous till 8 PM here. Had it been 4PM ...that would be unreasonable of me to expect that. MY APPT WAS AT NOON! I was told by 1.800 Safelite cust svc the Fife staff can work overtime. Sounds like the Fife mgr isn't too concerned w/attention to detail (not having ordets checked before leaving for install at customers home) & not coming through for customers as advertised. I asked cust svc to check if the only thing stopping Fife from following thru that day was being willing to work overtime today. He said yes. HE HAD CALLED THEM. THEY SPOKE ABOUT THAT & EVERTHING ELSE It was about convenience for Fife. They had the window. The drive from my home to Fife Safelite is 20 minutes. I took a pic of my online order. Including the correct window I ordered! Its stated in words AND visually using a diagram of my car. After this wasted my day (I drove 4 hrs home from a work trip for this appt & long calls w/cistomer svc) I remembeted the $150 cash it also cost due to this mistake. I drove back from my volunteer work exclusively for this appt only. A wasted very costly trip in gas. I do volunteer work w/shelter dogs so its my own gas $. I offered to pay $100 extra to install guys cash in advance. A tip to get it done today as promised. They said no. I asked for a discount since this mistake cost me 8 hrs unnecessary driving (gas). THEY ONLY OFFERED ME A $25:DISCOUNT. FIFE DID NOT OFFER A DISCOUNT AT ALL! THEN I WAS QUOTED THE WRONG PRICE! THEY WERE GOING TO OVERBILL ME! I have pics of the total bill on Safelites appt site. It's not a quote. It's a final price including tax. THAT PRICE IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY. ITS $50 DIFFETENCE! THEY WERE WRONG IN EVERY SINGLE ASPECT. The install guys were nice.

These guys are awesome! The South Tacoma Safelite location is absolute garbage and were unable to help me, but these guys were able to find an oem glass replacement for my older Audi and replace it next day. Their tech has a super chill personality but quick hands and replaced my window while the lead technician in South Tacoma said it would be too tricky since it would required interior panels to come off to access.

The process was made very easy and the staff were great! I’m just not sure the windshield they installed was top notch. I’ll have to call and discuss why I’m getting blinded by a huge glaring arc when the sun is out. Eek!

It’s been raining in my van for a month after Safelite replaced my windshield. The windshield camera, dash, cup holders, and floorboards were all full of water. I should have read all the bad reviews before I ever brought my vehicle here. Safelite will fix the windshield under warranty, but what about the electronics after they corrode from being wet in a year? I was told they couldn’t fix the leak until they had another windshield on hand for replacement, in case it cracked, so the van would have to sit in the rain for another 10 days until my appointment. Got here, and the windshield is not on hand, and they only wanted to verify the leak. So they wasted more of my time today. I asked for my deductible back to compensate me for my time/trouble, and I was told “they aren’t making any money” on this job. Not sure that’s my problem. Don’t expect any sympathy or apology from this shop for their screw ups, and they are more than happy to waste your time. My insurance company even said that Safelite has terrible communication and they are difficult to deal with. When you call the Safelite 800 number and ask to speak to an agent, it says no one is available, but if you say nonsense to the AI to confuse it, it will connect you with an unhelpful person. Safelite is horrible to deal with if you have a problem.
