Gene is absolutely incredible, has a vast knowledge on 6.0 powerstrokes and is truly passionate about what he does. Will explain to you exactly what's going on and what needs to be fixed, will also recommend things to look out for and get done in the future when you have extra time/money to prevent any future breakdowns and will explain and show you these things not try to scam you or bullshit you in any way, absolute stand-up guy. My fuel pump went out and he figured it out in minutes and had the truck fixed the same day. He is the most straightfoward and honest mechanic you will ever meet and will do his absolute best to help you get back on the road with quality work at a more than fair price. Circumstances came up where I couldn't pick up the truck until the following day and Gene went out of his way to make sure my truck was parked inside the shop and kept safe. Will not ever take my truck to anyone but Gene going foward, could not be more thankful that I found Sound Diesel Performance.

Amazing experience with Sound Diesel & Gene! I called Gene on Monday telling him my F350 threw a code & explaining what I was experiencing with my truck. He said he wouldn't have to look at it until Wednesday morning. I showed up Wednesday morning expecting him diagnose the code & schedule the repair. He looked @ the engine & told me what needed to be repaired. He then told me they could have it repaired that day..... Patrick THEN gave me a ride home to FW! I picked up my truck @ 5pm. I wanted to test out my truck before my review.... last weekend I hauled my 24' trailer to Ellensburg to elk hunt. It performed great! Best part of my experience is how reasonable the cost of the repair!!! I'd trust them with any diesel work!

Gene is an absolute master of his trade and genuinely cares about his customers. I had Gene add some performance enhancements to my Duramax in 2012 and my truck is still running smooth to this day! UPDATE 6/26: Gene and Bailey went above and beyond to get my truck up and running after my HPOP decided to go out as I was loaded up and ready to leave for a road trip. A lot of guys would have told me I was out of luck, or they would have gotten my truck running and called it good, but Gene took the time outside of business hours to not only fix my truck, but to really test it and make sure it was running great before I left his shop. Not only is Gene a diesel whisperer, but he’s an honest and rock solid person who has my full trust and confidence. First review 7/25: I couldn’t be happier about my experience with Gene and his team at Sound Diesel. I took my Excursion to him in a sad state and had it returned to me better than ever! Gene was very clear about what was needed, communicated throughout the whole process including sending pictures and videos of everything torn down, and did everything for a fair price. I’ll be back for all of my ongoing Power Stroke needs.

I recently had an outstanding experience at Sound Diesel Performance with my 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Their team consists of highly skilled technicians who deliver exceptional service. Due to a scheduling conflict, I was unable to install a set of parts myself as originally planned. I contacted the shop, and they accommodated my truck promptly—scheduling it within just a few days—with remarkably quick turnaround time. The comprehensive upgrade included new injectors, turbo, turbo pedestal, HPOP, fuel lines, up-pipes, an Edge CTS3 monitor, an EGT probe, and a PHP Hydra chip with pre-loaded tunes. When the up-pipes I supplied proved incompatible, the team generously provided and installed a set of suitable ones at no extra charge. They also recommended and installed a 4-inch in-line muffler exhaust system, along with a security system for added peace of mind. In addition, they performed a full fluid service across the vehicle. The truck now runs stronger and more reliably than ever. I highly recommend Sound Diesel Performance and plan to return for all future diesel work. In hindsight, my one suggestion would be to let the shop source the parts directly—they can often secure better pricing and provide valuable long-term warranties on their components.
