Top notch service. Worked with John on a quote for a set of tires for my rig. He gave me multiple options and explained some key points about the best tires for my rig and what I was wanting to do. Didn’t make me feel “dumb” for not knowing or rush through his explanations. Hohn and the crew got me taken care of the same week. Great pricing was the bonus.

Several years ago I was referred to John at Auburn Car Repair & Offroad by a friend. I had my Tacoma re-geared, along with multiple fluid changes and a brake job. Next was catalytic converter replacements, and when the parts to complete weren't available, he stuck to the estimate and timeline by eating the difference on another more costly version. Then it was time for rear axle bearings, front ball joints, brake pads and steering rack repairs. John called me right away to let me know pads still had a good amount of life and that the steering rack play I had found was well within spec. I told him to go ahead and swap the pads while he was in there anyhow, and thanks to his honesty I didn't have to shell out a lot of money for the steering rack. And finally fast forward to my rear differential failing. How I use my truck, I honestly thought I'd be paying for all the repairs, and was ready to, but John let me know that how it failed really shouldn't have happened. He worked with his vendors, back and forth multiple times, to get everything repaired under warranty. It took awhile, but I had given him a date I had to have the truck by, and he made it happen. Even working to get me what I needed when his shop was closed. So with my truck repaired just in time for a long planned camping trip, I can't thank John and Auburn Car Repair enough for their service and ease of communication. And as I finish typing this, I remember that he doesn't just work on offroad rigs. We had my wife's car in for AC repair as well!

They ripped me off!! I brought a new, unused, never in gear oil, modified ARB & Yukon gears to them to install in a old high pinion dana 44. They kept my new locker and installed a used one and did NOT record the set up specs for the Yukon YES warranty I purchased for the ring & pinion.. They also do not provide me with a written estimate, then jacked up the price more than 10%= both illegal! I sent John a detailed email explaining the issue- Randy's R&P said not to double up spacers, they did exactly just that!. First 2 pics are my locker, rests of pics are what they installed! They also kept the parts not used in the master overhaul kit- carrier bearings, gasket, inner axle seals, etc.. ARB's come with their own specific narrower carrier bearings due to the air supply ring. I had to install them to put the ARB in the axle to measure for RCV axle shafts, I used to do gears with a buddy back in the late 90.s - early 2000,s and know the process well. If they will rip off a knowledgeable customer, how bad will they rip off people who have zero knowledge of mechanics?!!!

Awesome place. They work on Jeeps Toyotas and much more. Did an excellent job on installing my leveling kit. Quality work and knowledgeable. Truck drives even better than before.
