Shields Service

I want to extend a very public THANK YOU to Shields Service in downtown Rockwall for helping us today! We took our Amphicar out today for a quick swim after lunch with some friends. When I pulled out of the water and drove up the road I felt something odd, and heard a noise. It was the rear tire! When I was able to pull over I saw a massive, gnarly nail in the center of our vintage white wall. Sadly that’s the end of the road for that tire, and thankfully we have a full sized spare in the car! But there was one pesky issue… I dont have a jack! By luck we were in downtown Rockwall when this all happened, so I parked the car on its now destroyed rear tire, left Jessica to stand guard, and walked to the nearest shop I could find to see if they would let me borrow a jack. That ended up being Shields Service, the place that’s been open at its current location since 1977. I felt like a doofus walking up from the sidewalk and asking for help. There was only a single team member working so he couldn’t leave, but he decided to let me borrow a floor jack and a tire spade. Imagine me dragging a massive commercial floor jack down a sidewalk in downtown Rockwall, because I’m sure several locals saw that ridiculous scene lol. I was able to use the jack to get the car up, somehow pried the hubcap off, and then swap the tire for the spare. Shoutout to Dr. Emery (previous owner) for thoughtfully equipping the car with this tire, he never lived to use it but his investment was not in vain! I returned the jack, after laying it on a beach towel on the rear bench seat, and thanked the Shields Service team. I offered to pay them, but they declined to accept payment. So, I decided to do something for them anyways, and intentionally wrote this post to share with everyone. There are still good people out there, and kind hearted businesses that don’t extend help for the benefit of a reward. Thank you so much Shields Service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

David and crew are always so fast and they get us in and out! He always takes the time to ask how you are doing and such- we love the personal touch!

I had a donut on my car after getting a flat. The roadside assistance that put the donut on said the original tire was still good. I had called horizon auto care I was on hold for 25 minutes while they went to see if they had a plugs still available. Then I called Firestone who said at least 45 minutes which was fine but I don’t know how much they would have charged. Two people recommended me to come here. I pulled in and they had other people waiting but still patched the tire and put it on in under 10 minutes and for $10 on a Friday around lunch time. I really appreciated them being so fast to help me as I know there’s no money to be made on a tire repair but would plan to come back for other needs and recommend others to give them a try. Thank you again!

Always a good experience and always get good prices weather it's tires or service

Good service. I went to get state inspection done. Didn't need to wait long. Within minutes they started to check my vehicle. Performed the inspection and gave certificate quickly. Nice guy. Explained it nicely. Checked tire price and will go back to get few tires soon.
