Took a set of 351Cleveland cylinder heads to wells. Asked to have them checked and then rebuilt. Long story made way short- Cylinder heads after i got them back had issues, oil getting into cylinders. Took them to another shop. The guides completely shot, springs to weak for cam, and one cylinder head had two cracks ! Absolutely terrible ! Would never ever use this shop for anything.

I wouldn't even give them one Star but that's the only way I can give a review had them build the top end of my 390Fe Ford I bought majority of the parts from Summit Harland Sharp 1:76 roller rocker arms and roller lifters and seeing that I'm not familiar with roller top end geometry that's why I hired WCH to build it Jamie bought the standard Fe pushrod length which I thought was odd seeing that the Harland Sharp is 1:76 ratio Long story short I paid him over $3k and after less than 20 miles and a total of maybe 3 hours of run time that includes setting up the ignition and dialing in the timing this is my result. If you're thinking about coming here take a step back and Run in the opposite direction.
View on GoogleJunky builds, Junky engines, junky warranty. Had an engine 5.3L built by these people and it crated only after about 2k miles. Took it to another engine builder and come to find out that they didn't fully rebuild the bottom end they only replaced the bearings and did the displacement on demand delete. They used an undersized cam according to the engine builder I took it to that motor was not going to last anytime they said. Head bolts were over torqued engine builder I took it to had to use a cheater pipe to remove the heads from the block, the block is garbage now. I would strongly look elsewhere into getting your engine rebuilt especially if it's a 5.3L LS. And the best thing of all is all this just started happening right past the warranty period. Will not be coming back ever.
View on GoogleI wish I could write a positive review but my experience was the exact opposite. We dropped off a block for a project car. After block inspection, I made the mistake of having Wells order and assemble my rotating assembly. Furthermore, I had him order and install the valves, springs, etc. in the heads. I figured this would be a simple task for a shop that does so many. What could go wrong? I hope “everything” is on your bingo card because that’s exactly what they messed up — everything they touched. It wasn’t until I installed the engine in the car that I realized something had gone wrong in the assembly process. The engine ran for maybe 10-15 minutes. Every spark plug was drenched in oil. Oil was getting into the combustion chamber and fouling the plugs. Immediately called Wells and his excuse was — that we are using an Edelbrock carburetor that was running so rich it wiped away the piston rings and they never sat! Which is a lousy excuse because an oil analysis showed zero indicator of fuel dilution in the oil. Again, this ran for 10 minutes. I also found out that different length intake and exhaust valves were used in my heads. Who does that? He also used SCAT connecting rods but my invoice shows eagle connecting rods. It doesn’t stop there. He used a crankshaft that is specifically for aftermarket blocks, my block is an original from the 70’s. Again, it doesn’t stop there. This crankshaft part number from the MFG website says to use minimum Rod length of 6.200”. So why did he use 6” rods? Everything about this is a mess. The rod bearings are all scored up and look awful. Again, the engine ran for 10 minutes, am I supposed to believe the carburetor did that too Mr. Wells? I politely expressed my dissatisfaction to Wells and wanted to give him an opportunity to make this right but was essentially dismissed and told to kick rocks since my “warranty” was up. My invoice is from March, that’s a pretty lazy warranty. I just recently got around to putting the engine in. It’s borderline theft and criminal they charged money for the work they did. A complete sham job start to finish and to make things worse, Wells doesn’t even have the confidence in himself to stand behind his own work. Lousy excuses and saying “you’re out of warranty” is not a valid way to do business. This type of craftsmanship and work morale has zero place or business providing any service to the public. Please, please if you value your time, money and integrity do not trust this “shop” to do any work for you. Read the other reviews on here, I’m not the first with major issues and complaints. I just the made the mistake of not researching these crooks beforehand.
