The staff diagnosed my BMW quickly and knew exactly what it needed. Quality work by quality people. I will never use anyone besides Car Nation.

Bought a truck from Grayson BMW and this is the shop the truck was already at for an oil change. I paid $140 for a pre-purchase "inspection" to just have a once over of the vehicle as I know at the very least, the AC is not blowing cold air. Turns out the entire AC system is shot, compressor blew completely and clogged the condenser, $2.2k to repair. I ended up negotiating a decent bit to where I was more comfortable purchasing knowing I needed to immediately dump $2k into it. BUT, a few days after purchase I begin to notice on start up a bit of a clicking noise. Kind of sounds like an old tractor getting started for about the first second of every COLD start. Turns out it's the cam phasers. This is extremely common on the 3.5L ecoboost for 2017-2019 Fords. And it's only noticeable on a cold start when there's no oil pressure. This would doubly explain the low asking price and why I was always shown the vehicle warm AND already running... Spoke with a mechanic local to me that I trust fully and he says there's no way they wouldn't have known, this doesn't sound like this overnight, it's probably been happening for the past few thousand miles as it's clicking really loud. He said if this just started this past week, it would be very faint, hardly noticeable at first. I mean what a coincidence this massive repair is needed immediately after purchase!! He recommended I don't wait any longer to change out the cam phasers because once the pin goes out, the engine will jump time and blow. This repair is costing me $3.8k. Edit: within a couple hours of posting this originally 1-star review, Andre called me ready to apologize for the miscommunication and had a solution ready to fix the issue. He offered to do the full cam phaser and timing chain job for $2.3k, $1.5k less than the shop I was speaking with. We had a 50 minute phone call talking about what went wrong and what could be done to right the situation. Andre thought all I needed was an ‘AC system inspection’ but I thought I was getting an entire pre-purchase inspection. There was a miscommunication and Andre took responsibility for this and offered to take on this large repair within a narrow window (I had to leave for a work trip) and he made it happen. He said he takes great pride in his business and this is obvious by his quick response and willingness to make it right even though this was all thrown on his lap by Grayson BMW. So far, the repair has worked out well! If anything changes, I will update!
