Ralph's Auto Service

Took my car in for an oil change last year, the next day the oil light kept flashing on & off & then later that night the car stalled at an intersection light, I was able to get it home, popped the hood and saw oil was splattered everywhere. The mechanic had forgotten to put the oil cap back on. I was upset but realize things can happen, right ? We have to give people grace. Took it back in to Ralphs and they sprayed the engine and all the components under the hood down with a solution to remove the oil and he gave me a free oil change ( as he should of, great ! ). About a week later my alternator went out ( on a 4 yr old Nissan Altima car), I took it back to him and paid a nice size bill ( almost a 1k) to have a new one put in ( when I went to pick it up, he said the 1st one they put in was bad so they put a 2nd refurbished one in.. this was a bit concerning making me wondering who their getting their alternators from) but new ones in so off I go. After talking to my son's mechanic, ( & later several others) he said getting oil or solution in the alternator can damage it. I have a feeling, Ralphs ruined my alternator and made me pay for their mistake. When I tried to bring it up to him, he mumble something about how that couldn't happen. About 6 months go by & the cars acting up again, Ralphs is saying it's the battery ( which was a relatively new 7mo battery, top line $184) and Ramsay's auto is saying it's the alternator ( and shows me a melting spot on the alternator which Ralphs didnt catch ) back n forth I go & then consulted a third mechanic who couldn't figure it out either. Im in car hell. Finally I get both mechanics to honor the warranty and give me a new battery & alternator. Off I go ! 6 months go by, and I have a family emergency in Oregon, and my car keeps dying while Im there. My son's mechanic looks at it and says the cable connecting the alternator to the battery is severely corroded and that was probably the problem I had 6 mos prior, not the battery or the alternator. He temporarily monkey riggs it for me, running a bypass wire/ cable to get me back home, with the car still dying randomly I'm still dealing with the issue. A new mechanic here in PA says hes never seen that happen on a Nissan before ( a corroded cable which is effecting other things now ) and was questioning the " look" of the alternator, says theres marks on it and wants to know where it came from. He doesn't want to work on the car because hes worried they may have messed around with certain wires. Great! Off to find another mechanic !! Go to another shop and they don't want to work on chsnging out the cable either and he also questions the alternator, inspecting it, says a replaced one has to be from Nissan or a refurbished one with a stamp for compliance for Nissan ( something like that ) but says my alternator looks like it was just pulled as part off a car. Greatttttt!!! I'm wondering now if oil or the solution Ralphs sprayed in the car got into the wire connected to the alternator and lead to it corroding. It's like a chain reaction from hell,, constant stress every 6 months that doesn't seem to stop

I can't recommend Ralph's enough! They are fair, honest, and always willing to help out even last minute. He has saved us many times when dealers were charging us an arm and leg for a repair. Feel luck to have a trustworthy mechanic so close by!

Hands down Ralph's Auto is the BEST in town! They're honest, trustworthy, reliable & offer competitive pricing. A big shout out to Allie who offers excellent customer service and keeps the shop running like a well oil machine. A huge thank you to Ralph, I appreciate you taking on my job I know it wasn't easy and having it done on same day is impressive.

Do not trust Ralph's Auto Service with your car. They charged me over $1k to fix a problem and then told me the problem still wasn't fixed and I had to take it to the dealership. When I took it to the dealership they explained that not only did they have to re-do everything Ralph's did because it was done incorrectly, they discovered Ralph's also sent me away with parts missing in my vehicle putting me and my children's safety at risk. When I asked for reimbursement they denied me and took no accountability for their "mistake". I was a loyal customer of theirs for the past couple years due to their close proximity to my house and was previously happy with their friendly customer service. Completely shocked how they handled this situation. I will not be returning and don't recommend any of my fellow neighbors do either.

Were able to fix my car quickly and for really good price. Very thankful for them
