ER Autocare Plain City

There are plenty of places to get your brakes fixed. They did a fine job as far as I can tell, but get a quote elsewhere before letting ER work on your vehicle. Communication was not great. I set an appt up for Tuesday drop off the night before, making it a point to communicate this was our family vehicle and I needed it by EOD. Was told no problem. I had to call around 2:00pm just to get an update, ETA or estimate. They never called me outside of check-in, and or calling me back after putting me on hold, but when I did get ahold of them they said they could get the back half done today, and I would have to bring in the next day for the other half. I said fine, despite what that meant to us logistically. I had to show up around close because I told them we needed our vehicle back by EOD, and was surprised when the vehicle was ready without any communication. They even managed to get both front and back replaced same day, which was great, but still didn’t communicate it was complete. I received a quote over the phone, but was unclear as to whether that included the brakes, fluid flush and oil change, or plus the other items they suggested. I was told I would receive an estimate, and said no to the other items, regardless. I never receiver said estimate. Just a blank PDF, but figured I’s get a copy once I got there and the back brakes were complete. I received the breakdown once I got there to pick up. I was shocked when I came in to pick up my vehicle and those 3 items cost $2k+. I thought I was conservatively guestimating $1200 for the brakes, another $120 for the oil change, and another $150-$200 for the flush. I told them that I was under the impression that the price on the phone included the shocks they suggested replacing, to which they responded the shocks alone would cost $2k. I’m not a mechanic, and I appreciate that is one heck of a craft, but those prices are insane. Even with top end parts. In general I was disappointed and felt the communication was lacking. I felt taken advantage of, which is never a good feeling for a car owner.

This is an honest review to hopefully help someone else avoid Being taken advantage of. My family has been using ER auto ever since they were at their old location on Lafayette-Plain City Rd. Not the cheapest but they were always honest and actually fixed your car. But Something has dramatically changed and we won’t be bringing anything back. It’s great that the guys are so friendly but if they Keep taking your money and-don’t actually repair the car for the same issue, I would say they aren’t as nice as they seem. We’ve brought the same vehicle in 4 times now for an AC repair. Each time we were charged for testing, dye and recharging the coolant. Once a Valve was replaced. Each time we were told no problems and everything is good. We pay and get the car home and it’s the same result the AC stops working, no actual Repair. Even after the third time for the same issue We are offered no break On the incomplete Repair. The 4th and final time was a new core. They quoted a price for the core change we approved it. They kept the vehicle for more than two weeks. Calling at one point saying they forgot to add a Coolant flush Service by mistake and needed more money than Originally quoted, after we approved the quote and were already in the process. Even at the end when we showed up to pay, the bill was $200 more than we were told and they could not explain to me why. They did adjust the unexplained $200.off. Leaving us with around $2000 on this 4th bill alone. We paid, got the car home and about 2 weeks later the exact same issue.. still not repaired. They did away with the loaner car program. I can’t afford to leave my car there for weeks at a time. I no longer have confidence in them to complete this job and I am tapped out of money now. They have already shown me that they will not back up their work without charging me more each time. So I am stuck with A drained savings account and three Week old baby with no AC in my vehicle.

ER Auto in Plain City was very customer service oriented, easy to communicate with, knowledgeable and fair. Sean took time to understand my concerns after working with my car dealer and having a poor experience and a really high quote to fix my AC issue. He relayed my concern to the service team and worked with me to repair my AC at half the cost that the dealer quoted! I appreciated being only a mile away from the shop and the exemplary customer service! We'll definitely be back for all of our service needs :)

This place got me out of a pitch a few months back and I’m so grateful I found them! I was having a weird smell in the car and I couldn’t stand it anymore so I stopped by to see them. They took great care of me (offered snacks and drinks while I waited) and got me in and out within 2 hours! I had an errand to run a block away and they were kind enough to give me a ride there and back to get my car once it was done. They fixed it for less than $100 and the smell was completely gone!! Thank you so much!

The care I recieved at ER Auto’care’ was terrible and I will never be returning. On my way to work, I was forced to find a mechanic due to engine stutters/misfires and a blinking engine light. I am not from the area so I googled car repair shops, and ER Autocare was at the top of the list with fantastic ratings. Upon arriving at their Plain City location (around 8:45 am) I was received by Chris who said that they would run their diagnostic test and do their best to find the source of the problem. As you would expect, I was relieved when he returned later and told me that only one issue came up: one of the oxygen sensors. The price they charged me seemed expensive but I agreed to it since they were fully repairing it and I was ready to be on my way. Instead of returning with good news an hour later, Chris came out and informed me that when they were running tests (after replacing the initial oxygen sensor), the other oxygen sensor began reading bad and they needed to replace it. I was very frustrated and already felt slightly manipulated but after asking several questions I eventually agreed to it. That was a huge mistake. An hour later Chris returned again with more bad news: once they replaced the second oxygen sensor, the diagnostic test signaled that the fuel injector was needed to be replaced and the car would not run properly without the repairs. The grand total for this piece was a $800. I couldn’t believe it and I was NOT about to agree to that repair without outside advice, so I called my dad. He has mechanical experience and once I explained to him what was going on he actually talked with Chris and asked several questions to make sure we were getting the best price possible. Eventually we decided to let them replace it and they worked on the car for another three hours. Later on at 5:15 pm, Chris came out and told me that they were confident the car was fixed and running smoothly, even though it had apparently stalled during one of the test drives. I took his word since I was in a rush to get to a commitment at 6 and paid the total of $1400. As I drove away, my heart sank. After spending all my savings and sitting at the mechanic shop for eight hours, my car was running worse than it had been that morning before taking it to the shop. I made it home and the next day I called ER Autocare because there was no way I was going to let this slide. All Chris said was that I needed to bring the car in so they could continue to work on it and try to figure out what the issue was, which I was NOT about to do. A friend had recommended Streamline Mechanic so I called them and took my car there the next morning, hoping that they could resolve the problem easily since it had been so difficult for ER to figure out. Streamline went above and beyond my expectations as they found the issue and fixed it in seven hours for a third of the price, and I haven’t had any problems since. In summary, I will not be returning to ER autocare and will never recommend it to anyone. Do not take your car there if you want to save your precious time and money.
