We have owned our Alfa Romeo® for a little over a year. We absolutely love the car, the hospitality at the dealership was as expected, and we’ve been to the service department one other time to get the oil changed. Again, we were treated with respect and were in and out within a reasonable amount of time. We recently had to bring our car in to get the inspection done, tires rotated, and most importantly the electrical system serviced due to three different messages appearing on the dashboard that happened over the winter, as well as our front intermittent wipers never working. We were told we should have the car back roughly within 72 hours. Hearing this, I naturally expected the car to be ready anywhere between 3 to 5 days. My service advisor told me they would communicate with me to let me know what’s happening. Fast-forward 2 1/2 weeks later, I was the one chasing for answers, I called corporate to complain as I wasn’t getting updates, but also they didn’t have loaners available from their VIP program, so we had no choice but to rent a car from Enterprise. Enterprise told me the $380 charge for one week plus an additional $300 security hold was not going to go through my account. In less than 24 hours it showed up as a pending charge. $680 was now not available for me to pay other bills. Luckily it dropped off, and now it was going past one week and I needed to know if I had to rent a car another week. It wasn’t until my wife and I went to the dealership and expressed our visible disappointment and frustration that the service department turned around and suddenly provided a available loaner. They apologized for the lack of communication, which is all I ever asked for from the beginning. I’ve been in the customer service industry for close to 20 years, you always provide the customer an update, not the other way around where they have to chase you. I found that very unprofessional and disappointing for a company of this caliber. We finally have our car back, but now I’m a little apprehensive about the next time I have to bring in my car for service that’s going to require more than a day. I understand they were backed up and short on staff, but that should have been communicated with me from day one, so I could’ve planned to bring in the car for full diagnostic of the electrical system another time, and just get the inspection and tire rotation done. Communication is super important in the customer service industry.

My first experience was an awesome one. Carl took care the appointment and Christopher took care the car. The mechanics did a great job. We’ll definitely come back here even though I didn’t pick up the car here. It’s closer to home. I’m glad I made the right choice I would like to thank the team for making me feel comfortable and for giving my car the service that it needed, so to everyone out there who owns an Alfa Romero and lives in Nassau County don’t hesitate to bring your car here for service. These guys are the best.
