Maguire Ford Service

My husband said the girls at the service desk were awesome. Oil change and recall check was done. We will NEVER have them wash our vehicle again however because when we bought it they scratched it, took it to be fixed-wasn't fixed. My husband took it again and another scratch was made, he took it back again and only the newer scratch was fixed. Will NEVER buy another vehicle from your company again. It saddens me because I thought we found a place we could go back to for future vehicles. Our salesman and the rest of the sales staff was great at time of purchase. Easiest and the most stress free vehicle purchase we've ever had.

This was my first experience at this dealership for a diagnostic service. The parts weren’t available so I didn’t have the repairs done there so I can’t speak to their work in that regard, except for a part of the backseat console that had fallen out that I asked to have properly reinstalled. It looked ok but promptly fell back out on the ride home. The car was supposed to be washed and vacuumed which it was not and it had a strong food odor inside that was not there when I pulled it in. I was highly disappointed even after a follow up phone call to the service manager. Usually I have good experience at Lincoln dealerships. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this particular one.

Terrible experience, avoid this shop at all costs. Very slow, extremely expensive, nobody could explain anything about the problem or the fix. We were sent away after the work was done with the truck in an extremely dangerous condition that has required another week of work to correct. They also failed to reassemble the truck properly, very careless and unprofessional all the way around. Trust me, your time and money is best spent elsewhere. Ford dealerships SHOULD be the best service money can buy, but they have been the biggest scam. There are far more competent, honest, and cost effective shops in Ithaca.

The actual work is fine. The service support is substandard. No one called me to tell me my vehicle was done, in spite of the fact that I told the service person that they needed to do that. In addition the service person told me that around $700 of repairs were not covered by my extended warranty and was wrong. Only after I pressed him did he check again and find that it WAS covered. Unacceptable.

The transmission on my 2019 Edge failed at about 69,000 miles. I had purchased an extended 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, but the insurance company, First Extended Service Corp., ignored the dealer's multiple requests to approve the repair, which was estimated to be $9,000. Apparently Ford ended up paying for this repair, but I'm not sure why. This all took several weeks to decide, during which time we had a loaner Escape. That was fine, but it is a smaller vehicle than our Edge, and the loaner agreement said that our dog was not allowed in the vehicle. All in all, it took over five weeks to get our vehicle back. It appears that the repair was successful. However, it was a bad experience, and it makes me question Ford, because the transmission failed at a relatively young age. Our last Edge also had a major failure at a young age, just after the powertrain warranty ended - the head gasket leaked, which ended up ruining the engine. That one they would not cover, but Maguire gave us an excellent deal on a trade-in for a new one. Ford quality is not something I can count on any more. I'm also disappointed with Maguire, even though the repair was completed for a $100 deductible. It took me multiple calls to get any action, and not until I contacted upper management did I get any movement toward a resolution on who would cover the cost. I've been a long-time Maguire/Ford customer, but it's time to look elsewhere.
