Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

First time customer at this location and using Pep Boy services. Not sure what to expect, but know this location has been there for years. Reason for visit? Needed 4 new tires for my Toyota RAV4. Did a LOT of shopping around for shops and the type of tire. Found Cooper Adnenturer All Season. Very impressive 3rd party ratings. Pep Boys web site easy to navigate and allowed me to have an exact complete final price quote on the 4 tires, installation, balancing, and taxes. Mechanics at this shop were easy to talk to and gave straightforward professional support. They quoted a time of 1.5 hours for the work to be completed and almost to the minute, they had the job done. I was anxious to do a test drive to see the tires preform and how the mechanics balancing of the tires worked. I was pleasantly surprised. Tires were terrific and the balancing was excellent. I think I've finally found a dependable, reliable, professional, affordable mechanic and repair shop. Cars are very complicated today, full of high end equipment and very complicated computers. Labor is VERY expensive and parts can be expensive, but Prp Boys looks like they've found a niche and deliver on all levels. I would recommend you do your research and see what I found in great service and pricing at Pep zboys in Franklin Square, NY.

If you’re looking for a reliable auto shop that values your time and money, Today, May 29, 2025 I scheduled oil change for my second car. And got the full synthetic for way cheaper. Cashier 508562 was nice and very helpful. I recommend this place now to all my clients. This place is a sleeper. The location doesnt match its high-end service. Give all these men a raise corporate! Pep Boys delivers. Highly recommended!

Don’t go here! I will preface this review by saying that this is my first ever review — I decided to make a review for the first time because of how awful this Pepboys has become — do not go here, they are rude scammers. I’ve been going to this pepboys location for almost ten years and I will never go again. The people at Mavis on Franklin Ave are so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful; give them your money instead! I took my car for an inspection and Pepboys failed me because of my wiper blades (didn’t know this was a thing, but whatever, they’re a few months old, sure). What’s interesting to note here is that a) Pepboys wanted almost 80 dollars to replace the two wipes and for the labor and b) I heard two speakerphone conversations with other customers while I waited that were told the same thing, all of our cars failed inspection solely because of our wiper blades, and all being charged almost 100 dollars to get them replaced two days before the month ended and our inspections would be expired. Odd. I failed the inspection, but decided to save money and get my wipers elsewhere, and an employee with the biggest attitude told me to come back tomorrow and they’d only charge me 10 for a reinspection - fine, no problem. I come back the next day, and almost an hour after I drop off the car, I’m told that the inspector isn’t there and that I have to come back again. Cool, could’ve told me he wasn’t there when I dropped off the car, but whatever. I’m happy I went back though, because I heard him talk to another customer who ALSO failed their inspection because of their wiper blades. Interesting. What an odd convenience while also being so financially beneficial for this Pepboys location! Crazy! I was told I had to come back next week for the reinspection - in the meantime I get a city ticket for having an expired inspection (wish the cop could have seen my several emails trying to get an appointment with this location, but whatever). Fine, still trying to save money so I go back again. Wait hours again. Only to be told I failed again because the brand new wipers I put on were “bent”. The blade is not bent at all. They are three days old at this point. I was told that if I wanted to pass inspection, I’d have to pay Pepboys for the labor to fix my “bent wiper”. Again, don’t know why I had to wait hours for this information, or how the only solution to this issue is to pay them almost 100 dollars for less than a minute of labor. I also want to note here that because they waited so long to tell me this, it was too late for me to take my car anywhere else, so I now fell outside the 24 hour ticket window to get my ticket cancelled by the city, so now I a) have to pay the ticket b) ran the risk of getting a second ticket the next day while at work. Fed up with this unbelievable nonsense and desire to scam and screw over their customer of almost ten years, I went to Mavis on Franklin Ave. Looking back I can’t believe I let myself get dragged along by this Pepboys for so long. PLEASE go to that Mavis instead of this Pepboys. Not only was I vindicated by the inspector at Mavis that my wiper wasn’t bent, but the inspector couldn’t believe that Pepboys denied my inspection for almost a week. I don’t plan on ever reviewing another business again, I just hope that this review helps prevent even one person from getting screwed over by this location, especially for inspections — go literally anywhere else!! Mavis on Franklin Ave also gave me a discount after hearing about the nonsense I had to deal with from Pepboys - save yourself!

The team was helpful and fixed the issue that i was concerned with. They were very thorough and tested their work multiple times to make sure everything was working as expected. Highly recommend.

I was extremely impressed with this location! I needed a tire replaced and they kept me informed throughout the entire process and were able to find me a new tire for a great price. I would strongly recommend this pep boys.
