Jan's Euro Motors

If I could give Jan a negative number I would. My collectible 1988 560SL was brought in for mechanical work in April 2023. This was my pleasure car and not my primary vehicle so I didn't push him so he didn't charge me a premium. He never called me and never returned calls. Finally last spring a full year later he tells that he wrote my phone number down wrong. He went on to say he will charge the battery and call me when its ready for pickup. That occurred at least 4 times. I picked up my car the other day and my brand new canopy top looks like this. He failed to protect the car and for weeks he allowed water to flood into the interior damaging the seats, visors and console. He destroyed my car. I have a DMV complaint filed and if no settlement with him we go to court. In excess of $10k in damages at least. To add insult to injury he stated that he would not pay because the damages are worth more that the car is worth. P.S. he parked it in his back lot with tires thrown on top and it is infested with ants and lord know what other rodents have been chewing at the wiring. Throughout this entire 18 month saga he never called me one single time even after he got my phone number correct. If he does the right thing by me I will be more than happy to post an update. You have my phone numbers Jan... At least you should after 18 months. Call me to resolve because this is going to get expensive. I will be adding a new review to every site possible to protect the consumer until they are all informed.

Jan is an amazing mechanic, he is nice, gives good pricing, and is honest when it comes to repairs, which I must say, is rare amongst mechanics. He has done good work on my 20’ Audi A4, and my aunt also has done business with him on her Mercedes, and she’s the reason I came here. If you need any work done, I recommend Jan’s.

Needed a quick fix on the brakes—was quoted 260 for the parts and 150 for labor —“there are cheaper parts but I don’t like my customers coming back with complaints of squeaking”. Got the bill, which happened to be 400 and it was expected but clearly parts that were mentioned were not used or were quoted wrong to begin with and the final bill was fudged to make it equal the quoted price. It’s hard to find a mechanic that isn’t trying to rip you off, might as well go to company dealer workshops but then you hear about how we shouldn’t leave local workshop and support them with business. It’s ridiculous. My brother got the same done for Hyundai for 250 and I assumed maybe the parts on VW were expensive but the bills shows they weren’t —it was just a trick. I got the job done so 2 stars. Otherwise would be 1.

Yan is the most competent and honest mechanic I've known. As a matter of fact I am sending my BMW to his shop from Georgia to have work done.

Very very reasonable pricing and also very knowledgeable about German cars and very friendly and he is such a nice guy and he serviced my car and every time I go there when he fixes it it's fixed I never have to go back a second time for the same problem this guy definitely knows his German cars that's because he's from Europe
