JJS Auto does superb collision work. I have taken my cars to the shop for probably over 20 years. they are honest and direct with any information they need to provide to you whether it's positive or negative they deliver the message. they also provide alternative information or options as needed.

You will never visit this garage without getting an upsell, and if you bring your car in for an inspection, they'll use the leverage of the inspection to try and force the issue. Recently brought my car in for an inspection and they insisted that the rotors were so bad from pitting that they absolutely needed to be replaced to pass. I do my own brakes, so I said no thanks, I'll do it and bring it back. I opened up the caliper and golly, it sure seemed like it was ok. Plenty of life left on the pads, and the rotors, while ugly, were not warped or significantly thinned. I called the place back and said that I disagreed with their assessment and I'd prefer they just pass it; I'll replace the pads and rotors soon but not immediately. The desk guy insisted that no, it definitely failed inspection, and they couldn't possibly pass it. Irritating. But I'm an amateur mechanic so I bought the parts and asked my dad, who cut his teeth on air cooled VWs, to do the brake job with me to ensure that I wasn't just being arrogant. We popped it all out and sure enough, while the rotors did have some pitting, the pitting was not deep enough to cause structural concern; not even close, and there was probably half of the brake pads life left. Prices these days and cars in general are expensive enough as it is without wasting good existing parts. After this experience, I won't be returning to this mechanic. And this is after spending over $1000 here in just the last 6 months. I wonder how how much of that $1000 actually needed to be spent.

I tried to get a certain problem fixed at another repair shop in Rochester, and the sound and problem came back the next day. Hagen automotive looked my car over completely for any problems. They fixed that problem I had and found a couple other things to fix. They were honest, reliable, and communicative. And charged me a very reasonable price.
