AMERICAN AUTO PEEKSKILL & NEW YORK STATE INSPECTION STATION

I brought my car here for a NYS Inspection and had a frustrating experience with the owner trying to force unnecessary repairs. He claimed the car failed due to both tires and front brake pads. My tires are at 4/32" in the front and 6/32" in the rear—well above the NYS legal failure limit of less than 2/32". While my front brake pads were right at the legal limit line (and I openly explained to the owner that I already have replacement parts at home ready to install), he refused to work with me or just issue the state-mandated rejection sticker. Instead, there was a heavy push to force me to buy new tires and brakes directly from them on the spot. See pictures.

I went to get the inspection done and the technician told me that I needed to replace the tires and brake pads, even though everything was still well within its useful life. On top of that, he charged me for the inspection even though the car did not pass. An hour later, I went to another shop for the same inspection, and surprisingly, it passed with no issues. It’s clear the first technician was just trying to take my money.

I highly recommend this shop. Vic was a pleasure to work with. He gave the cheapest prices with great work. Definitely went above and beyond

Charged my mom $600 plus to do front and back brakes but when she went to do her inspection a little while after the other place told her that her back brakes were shot and she needed to get them done to pass inspection. My mom paid to get her brakes done again and is older and non confrontational so she didn’t go back to fight the charges. If she had told me at the time it would have been a different story. Do not go here this place is horribly dishonest there are better places to go like Freddys next door

Depend of the costumer they charge you more so I don’t like that kind of service. Update: I’m not anonymous it was a real review. I went there to fix my tires and they charge more than what they had told me. And when I asked why the answer was that they did a good job. Wow. Never again
