Usually the service has been great except my most recent visit. When they put my wheels back on they must have used nearly 200ftlbs of torque on the lugs. They were cross threaded and I had to break off the studs and replace them.

I started my car this morning and observed the Check Engine, RAB, and EyeSight lights came on and the X-Mode light flashed. I called the dealership and spoke with Ron Draves who said they were very busy but if I didn't mind waiting they' would look at my car. He told me as long as the Check Engine light was steady, not flashing and the drivability of the vehicle was fine I was in no danger of a catastrophic failure. When I arrived a little before 1:00 PM, I met with John Gardy the Service Adviser. John was great! He was professional, funny, and explained the cause of my Check Engine light could be something as simple as a loose gas cap which made me feel much better. John advised me every step of the way with the progress of my service. I was also impressed with the video I was sent from the service technician that resolved the issue. Apparently the last time I filled my car with gas, I didn't tighten the gas cap completely which created the error. They repaired this issue at no cost to me. While I was there, I had them replace my battery since it's over five years old and and the car was cranking a little slower than I'm used to. What a difference! My car was serviced and I left the dealership about 2:45 PM. My only concern is when the battery was replaced, they did not maintain the car's memory. As a result, the trip meter and my gas mileage was reset. I also had to reset the auto-up/down feature of the passenger side front window. Fortunately I found a video online that allowed me to quickly reset the window. Also I would have preferred while they were changing the battery, if they had cleaned away the corrosion around the battery hold-down. But I did get a free multi-point inspection and free car wash. This is the second Subaru I've purchased from Carbone Subaru in Troy. My first vech9ile I purchase used in 2016, a 2013 Outback 3.6R. My current vehicle which I purchased new, is a 2017 Outback 3.6 Touring. Thank you Ron and John for calming my nerves in my emergency and taking care of my car so quickly.

Jeff and the team at Subaru of Troy were very helpful and polite! I was given a care package with a shirt, water bottle and a personalized car with my purchase. This put the service of the top for me!

This update regarding Subaru of Troy, is cautionary. Always question them, from the moment you step onto the lot, and if you get that far, right to the financing. If you get a weird feeling about anything they tell you, or you see anything odd to you, trust your gut and leave immediately. We, unfortunately did not and have paid the price. Go in prepared with a pre-approval from your bank, know your monthly limit, get your own mechanic do an independent inspection. We’re good now, with a vehicle from DePaula Ford.
