The Sagamore Resort

Our experience at Sagamore Resort was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We booked and paid extra for a lake view room one month in advance because we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Upon arrival, we were given a pool and garden view room instead. When we brought this to the front desk’s attention, there was no apology and very little effort to make things right. We were forced to change rooms three times in a single night. The second room was connected to another guest room through a door, and we could hear everything from the family next door, leaving us with no privacy. The third room, located outside the main building, was poorly cleaned and had spider webs throughout the room. After our stay, I contacted management to express my concerns. Instead of receiving an apology or any attempt to resolve the situation, I was contacted by a representative whose attitude was surprisingly rude and dismissive. Rather than acknowledging the issues we experienced, they seemed more interested in denying them. The problems we encountered during our stay were disappointing enough, but the way management handled the complaint was even worse. Customer service starts when something goes wrong, and unfortunately Sagamore Resort completely failed in that regard. What was supposed to be a special birthday celebration turned into a stressful and frustrating experience. We will not be returning, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend this resort to others.

What an incredible experience at the Sagamore! The service was outstanding, the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, and every part of our stay exceeded our expectations. Had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Sagamore this past weekend! Not only were the staff at the front desk, spa, and transportation services very helpful, but the grounds were beautiful. As a solo traveler, I felt welcomed and had wonderful conversations with the staff that made the trip much better than it already was. There is also no shortage of things to do at the resort, and the town is only a short drive away. Would highly recommend!

The location is hard to beat, so the views alone were worth it (we got a unit with a balcony facing the lake). My only nits were little issues with the room (no deal-breakers, but worth mentioning): the kitchen sink faucet was so loose it moved side to side every time we turned it on or off; one of the light switches was not secured, so it also moved when we used it (although it didn't work anyway, so we only tried it once); likewise, one of the outlets was not secured, so that it pulled out a bit when removing our plugs. It's a great location not only for the views, but for things to do: tons of outdoor activities nearby; Bolton Landing is a cute little village with decent places to eat and shop; it's close to Lake George, etc.

Went for a quick weekend in March. It was less crowded than usual so we were able to utilize many things on the premises. The spa and the outdoor heated pool were wonderful. Had a great time at the Recreation center room. The views are amazing from everywhere
