They scammed me bad. SMH. I went in to get my catalytic converter straight piped, they said they couldn’t do it and since it’s 1200+ to replace it they would clean it out because it’s clogged for $500. I drove away and issue still the same. I go back next day and tell them car drive even worst than before so what did they clean or unclog?! They said they sprayed and wiped inside it with their special cleaner. I went and bought a catalytic converter and asked them to put it on. They said $550. At this point they just charging me double of what it should be cuz I called around and most shops charging 300-400$ to replace the converter. They charged me over a thousand dollars. There’s a whole lot more wrong they did but bottom line, I wish I would have knew better than to go by myself I’m guessing because I’m a female they fed me some bull and I fell for it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP. They lie about the work they do on your car and intentionally don’t fix the issue first time around and mess up something purposely on your vehicle just so u can come back and give them more money. Biggest regret was going there. Never again and definitely wouldn’t recommend any to get work done from them. They money hungry and dishonest. Saying my car have an oil leak. My car doesn’t leak oil. They just make up stuff that’s similar to what your actual problem is on the car #facts 100

Hello everyone, Let me start off by thanking Detroit Brakes & Muffler, they did an amazing job on my car. I called them on 27 of April, spoke to Ali he told me I can bring my car in to checked out, I had it towed to the shop. The next the shop called me with pricing, they fixed my car and record time my car was done by the end of the business day of yesterday. They are fast efficient and very professional, if you need your car fixed please don’t hesitate ask for Ali you will not be disappointed. Ali and his team is the only one can touch my car, you will always have a front seat at the table. Thank you Detroit Brakes & Muffler, I appreciate you 1,000 percent see you soon. 😊

I had some custom muffler work done for my BMW, and I have nothing to say besides I’m incredibly happy with the outcome. Work was as quoted, job was done quickly and cleanly. They even let me see the underside after the work was complete, and during fitment to make sure I liked the appearance. Would recommend for exhaust work.

My review is mainly for the customer service. I sent my partner in with my car as I had to work and he was off that day to have them give an estimate on the work that would need to be done. Without my or my partner's permission, they immediately begin working on the car, which could be construed as good service, but now I have to pay you for work I wasn't sure about yet. I was quoted $5500 when I was expecting (based on calls to other local shops) something around $2000-2500. This quote included work that I did NOT ask for, including minor things like changing the brakes (which was done by the time I got on the phone with them to try to authorize the work), replacing spark plugs (also done before I said yes), etc. - essentially, I was being charged for work I could have done myself WITHOUT asking for the work to be done. I told them there was no way I could pay that price, to which the representative, Vito, responded "We'll we've already started on a lot of the work, so can you do $4500 for what's already done?" This is ludicrous to me! What choice do you have in this circumstance? If my wheels weren't already lying on the ground, I would have tried to drive to a different auto shop down the street. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this place, especially if you are vulnerable because they WILL take advantage! This should NOT be your first stop for repairs. Their staff was actually quite polite and the maintenance work done was passable, but politeness does NOT negate being DECEPTIVE. To me, this place is a loan servicer masquerading as an auto shop. Believe all of the reviews talking about taxing because it is true!
