Fox Automotive Body Shop/ Collision Center

I brought my 2025 Toyota Tacoma to the Fox Automotive Body Shop (which I also purchased from Fox Toyota in December of 2025) for a repair which required a partial replacement of the rear bumper as a portion of the bumper had some minor damage. Prior to the repairs I had driven the vehicle for over two months after the damage occurred as the parts to repair the bumper were on back order. During these two months I had zero issues with the Blind Spot Monitor system and it worked perfectly and the damage was only cosmetic and did not affect the functionality of the vehicle in any way. Following the repairs when they returned the vehicle to me, within minutes of me leaving their facility the Blind Spot Monitor malfunction message came on the dash and has not went off. Upon inspection, it was discovered they mounted a precision radar sensor using non-OEM mounting equipment. The Body Shop Manager, Kevin Desantis, admitted that his team installed additional washers on the sensor mount. This completely violates Toyota OEM safety and repair standards as it modifies the sensor mount to non-OEM equipment/design which changes the angle of the sensor which must be precise. The shop also skipped the mandatory system calibration which is required whenever work is done to the bumper or the sensor is removed. Management, including General Manager Mark Kowalski, have refused to correct the safety issue, claiming "concealed damage" despite failing to perform a mandatory pre-repair scan or taking a single photo to document their claims. To make matters worse, their administration committed a massive clerical error, typing 15,000 miles on the repair order instead of the actual 4,900 miles. This 10,000-mile error was reported to CarFax, triggering a "Mileage Inconsistency" flag on my brand-new truck and damaging its history. While management has recently apologized for the mileage error and is scrambling to contact CarFax to fix their mistake, they are still refusing to properly fix the rigged Blind Spot Monitor safety sensor. Formal cases have been opened with both Toyota Brand Engagement and the Michigan Bureau of Automotive Regulation. Shop elsewhere if you want your vehicle repaired correctly and your paperwork handled professionally.

I’m extremely disappointed—not with the quality of work, since none was ever done—but with the complete lack of customer care. I dropped off my vehicle for body work and received automated updates showing the repair status and a pickup date. After two weeks, I went in to pick up my truck, only to be met with confusion. The service advisor told me the insurance company should have notified me that they weren’t doing the work, and that I shouldn’t rely on their automated system. I made it clear that blaming insurance or the automated messages was unacceptable. The truck was in their facility, they declined the work, and it was their responsibility to inform me. They then said they would contact the insurance company and later told me they had changed their mind and would proceed with the repairs. I left the truck there again. Another two weeks passed with no updates, and once again I had to show up in person to get information. I was told—again—that insurance should have contacted me. They had declined the work a second time and never bothered to notify me. I told them I would return in two days to pick up my truck so they could at least put the removed parts back in the bed. When I arrived, the parts were tossed in the truck, but the vehicle hadn’t been moved, the snow wasn’t cleared, and the tires were flat after sitting for six weeks. I had to walk to the back of the lot and inflate the tires myself just to drive it out. After being a loyal customer for many years, this experience has made it clear that I need to take my business elsewhere.

By far the best experience I've had at a body shop. Ken was super easy to work with, constantly keeping me updated and the job was finished early. And he's a nice guy. Well done Fox!!

Before I state anything DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP FOR ANY WORK. if I could I would leave a negative 5 star review. I had brought in my car and it is a 3 stage color (pearl white) and I know the color woudl be off on the bumper given the color and it’s plastic but my bumpers color was way to off. Not just that but there is little to no clear coat on it, they dry sprayed half of it making it feel rough to the touch, and when I had called the manager he said they can do nothing about it. The advisor who had helped me did try his best but he told me they should’ve blended the paint and tried to CHARGE ME for something THEY should’ve done. Very bad experience and very bad craftsmanship. Do not take your car here at all. There are better body shops and I made a mistake trusting the dealership.

If you’re debating to go to Fox Body Shop, simply look at the letters that they left on my window for your answer-“N-O”. If they can’t remember to take off letters that they placed off of your window...definitely don’t trust them with repairs. When I chose Fox Body Shop to complete minor repairs on my vehicle, I unknowingly signed myself up for months of hassle, I could write a whole essay on my multiple HORRIBLE experiences with Fox Body Shop, but I will keep it brief: 1. The estimator I dealt with, Mr. Orlando, was the most unhelpful and unpleasant person I have ever dealt with. He was constantly condescending and would never go out of his way to help me or any other customer that I witnessed him interact with. 2. Mr. Orlando didn’t include a part of my damages in my original repair claim (after I confirmed with him (twice!) that he did) so now I will have two insurance claims against me. 3. My repairs took way longer than expected—I understand the repair timeline is just an estimate but no one ever contacted me to inform me of this or returned my multiple phone calls. Then suddenly after my insurance complained about the length of the repairs, it was ready within an afternoon. I understand body shops get busy but please communicate with your customers.. 4. The fox advantage reimbursement check I was promised for completing the repairs at their body shop has yet to be seen months later. I will never return to this body shop and will never lease another car from Bill Fox Chevrolet due to these experiences. I would NEVER recommend Bill Fox to anyone!
