Had them do a stage 2 on my 2015 911 turbo. Exhaust, intercoolers, cpu upgrade and intake. Did a perfect job at a great price!! They also did shocks and breaks on my Autobiography Range Rover for half the price of the dealership. Dave was great to work with!!

I am pretty new to online reviews and this one just came up as a suggested review because i was just here last week. It pains me to leave this one because I have been a customer here for years. It used to just be Jeff and 2 other guys in a small shop, grew to 5 or 6 guys and a huge shop. They always have some of the coolest, most interesting cars and projects here and Jeff loves showing them to customers. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars here, brought friends to show them, enjoyed Porsche club events here and they worked on all of my cars. I never questioned their work or pricing before but the last few visits have left me sour. I email and call to make an appointment and when I do get someone on the phone, it takes weeks or even months to get the car in. Finally get it in after waiting for the appointment and then it will sit there a couple days before its even touched, then I get an excuse of waiting for parts, when i go to pick it up, the price has gone up. The issue i have is the quality of work, there is no quality anymore. I have had to return almost every single time because of an issue. The last time, i made it about 200 ft, engine light came on and was running rough. It wasn't even in for a repair, just a tune up. Im not sure what happened but Dave, the guy who ran the shop for 10+ years always got me in fairly quickly, quoted me the price i paid on pickup, had the car hand washed for me, and i never had to return with an issue. The higher price point was well worth it. The 2 techs I was familiar with are also gone. There is also no customer service here whatsoever. Usually there is a lady, Jeff the owner or a young kid at the counter. There's always an excuse, or my questions get avoided, the younger guy doesn't know how to interact with customers. A friend of mine brought this up as well and the owner made it sound like he didn't want him as a customer anymore.  Its very odd because when i went back in to bring this all up with the owner(who was not there), there was another man there that seemed to be having the same exact issues and told the kid at the counter that he wouldn't be coming back. Now as i search for a new local shop, it seems that this is common on the local pages. I hope they can turn things around and get some other techs and someone to run it because right now its just chaos and i used to love coming here.

Took my BMW X5 here for an alignment, the printer was broken and they couldn't print out my alignment sheet, and I have called and asked and emailed multiple times and still haven't gotten my alignment sheet 8 months later. If they can't complete a simple alignment, I wouldn't trust them with other work.

I want to extend my highest praise to Jeff and staff. My 1976 Porsche had an issue that was identified in Illinois. I routinely took my 1976 Porsche to Automotive Techniques, but now I live in Illinois. We were delighted with the service we received. They stand behind their work and handled the situation professionally and courtously. My car is running beautifully. Jeff has an appreciation for classic and vintage autos.

David the manager took care of my vehicle and SAVED ME A TON! A turbo hose that the BMW dealership wanted to charge me outrageously for, David had replaced for a FRACTION of the cost and QUICKLY! He was very honest and communicated through the whole process. The invoice was even less then the estimate, because the part cost less then expected, you just don't find integrity like that now a days! You do NOT have to accept the dealerships inflated costs in order to receive EXCELLENT customer service and good, even BETTER auto repair service on your vehicle, from people who know European Vehicles! They have earned my business and I highly recommend Automotive Techniques. THANK-YOU again David & staff for all your help!
