LBJ Independent Honda/Acura Specialists

Our first service experience for our 2016 Acura MDX was excellent. Scheduling the appointment was simple, they stayed on time, and our vehicle was ready when promised. The pricing was significantly lower than the dealer’s quote for the same repairs. We’ll definitely be returning for future service and highly recommend them.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to give kudos for the guys at LBJ. My car was acting weird on Tuesday and was completely dead by Wednesday. An employee at AutoZone had recommended LBJ and we decided to go for it and just have the car towed to them. They were helpful, explained things clearly, fixed the problem quickly despite having a pretty full schedule, and overall it was clear to me we were getting good service without any upcharges. We had the car back by Thursday afternoon and as a bonus, they found an earring I had lost deep in the recesses of my minivan! As far as “my car broke” experiences go, this one was about as positive as it could have been.

I highly recommend LBJ Independent Honda/Acura Specialists without any reservations! I have been their happy customer since about 2005, and have serviced and/or fixed multiple Honda cars during that time. Their work quality is top notch. I don't remember having an issue with them at all. I have been recommending them to other many times, and every one who went to them told me that they were satisfied. LBJ folks really know their field, which is everything Honda-related (and, I assume, Acura-related - but I don't own an Acura, so I cannot tell your first hand). The owner, Rick, knows his stuff inside and out. He also always explains all the technical issues in plain terms, so that any layman can understand. All the mechanics who work for Rick are uniformly great, and also explain technical things well. Everyone treats me and other customers who are in the shop really well. Nice thing to know: when I want to educate myself, I asked Rick or his colleagues at LBJ for car-related advice, not necessarily related to the repair job that they worked on. For example, I asked about recommendations for car jump starters, recommendations for driving in very cold weather, etc. I always got great, actionable advice. The prices are substantially lower than in any Honda dealership that I checked around my place. The prices are higher than in some deep discount shops who only changes the oil and the filters, and nothing else (you know them). But in the end I saved more by going to LBJ, because they try to carefully check out the car, and tell me right away about any pending issues they see. For example, they may say that the brakes need replacement in X thousand miles, but they do not need to be changed right away. Or that the some other thing needs to be fixed within the next Y months. It is always good to know of any potential and real issues in advance, rather than find out about worn-out brakes the day before a long car trip. In summary, if you have a Honda, LBJ is the place to go!

The LBJ team are the best. Had a squeak in my 2016 Honda CR-V. Dan Sr. diagnosed the car and showed me that the problem was the water pump. He replaced it and showed me old water pump with the damage. Only the best of best provide this kind of service.

I’m still in shock by how helpful and honest everyone at LBJ Auto is. I’m rarely bothered to write reviews, but I’m so serious I had to write one for them! They are affordable, quick, and even showed me stuff my key fob could do that I didn’t know 😭 You lose absolutely nothing by at least checking them out.
