Wow, what a huge improvement! Under new ownership and the new owner, L is very trustworthy, affordable, knowledgeable, and I highly recommend. I went to him for oil change for my Toyota and an oil leak for my BMW and him in the long-standing mechanic are just fantastic. I can’t say enough great things. Soon he’ll be the only one in Melrose with an inspection sticker option as well, which will be great.

View on GoogleDropped my car off on a Tuesday morning for what Alan promised would be a simple three-day repair, a dented rear quarter panel and some paint, the shop looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since 1998, coffee cups on toolboxes, old bumpers stacked against the wall, Alan leaning on the counter telling long stories about “how nobody knows how to work anymore,” by Friday the car hadn’t moved, Monday came and he said the paint gun was “acting up,” Wednesday he said the supplier “sent the wrong shade,” when I finally got the car back the panel was still slightly warped, the paint looked like two different reds depending on the light, there were sanding marks on the trunk, grease on the driver seat, and Alan just shrugged and said “most people wouldn’t notice.” What made the whole thing worse was Alan himself, loud voice, sitting on a rolling stool in the garage complaining about customers, at one point he started ranting about “certain neighborhoods bringing junk cars,” making a couple openly racist comments while two mechanics just kept working and stared at the floor, he laughed it off like it was normal conversation, meanwhile my car sat half-finished outside in the rain for days, when I questioned the bill he pointed to a handwritten invoice with extra charges for “shop materials,” “paint adjustment,” and “labor correction,” none of which he could explain, the entire experience felt like stepping into the worst stereotype of an auto body shop, overpriced, sloppy work, and an owner who seemed more interested in complaining about the world than fixing cars.

View on GoogleWe had one tie rod replaced, and two days later, the tire broke and the steering wheel was off. After repairing the tire, my husband and I asked about alignment (which is always required), and the owner was rude, yelled at me on the phone, and used inappropriate language. He never informed us that alignment was needed. We later had it done by a certified technician, who confirmed that alignment is always required after a tie rod replacement — and even said that for the high price we were charged, it should’ve been included or at least discussed before the work was done. Unprofessional and overpriced. Don’t waste your time here.
