Absolutely outstanding experience at Morrison’s Auto Rite. Jovani was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive throughout the entire process. He carefully explained everything in detail, thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and made sure I fully understood what was happening with my car. You can immediately tell that he is a highly skilled specialist with real experience and integrity. The entire team was respectful, professional, honest, and very detail-oriented. It’s rare to find an auto repair shop where people truly take their time, communicate clearly, and genuinely care about the customer’s safety instead of just trying to sell unnecessary repairs. I truly appreciated how thorough and transparent they were. They treated me with kindness, respect, and professionalism from beginning to end. I am updating my review following a second opinion from another qualified mechanic, which revealed a massive discrepancy in the service approach provided by this shop. While this shop did identify genuine maintenance items in my older vehicle, they framed these as catastrophic, giving the impression the car was unsafe to drive and quoting a prohibitive $10,000 for repairs. I want to be clear: I am not disputing the existence of the maintenance issues identified, nor am I accusing the shop of fabricating them. However, there was a stark gap between those maintenance needs and the severity implied by the shop's assessment. Framing these items as a catastrophic failure caused me significant, unnecessary anxiety over the last month, as I believed my vehicle was on the verge of total failure. Understand, if a disabled individual needs adaptations to a car it means getting a new one is a massive time undertaking, and it’s emotionally taxing. My frustration lies with the lack of professional transparency. I disclosed my vehicle’s disability adaptations when dropping off the car, specifically to allow the shop to decline the work if they were not comfortable with it, which would have been perfectly fine. It remains unclear whether the shop's subsequent behavior stemmed from a lack of experience with those adaptations or if they tried to use them as a convenient pretext to avoid working on an older vehicle entirely (which would have been perfectly reasonable and well within professional service if communicated directly). Regardless of the motive, the situation was handled poorly. I was frequently 'barked' at when asking for clarification, and the quote felt more like a deterrent than a legitimate service estimate. (To be clear: I did *not* ask for a repair estimate on the total cost to fix every single issue with the car, which might be where the 10,000 quote originated. I came in with a specific issue, which I now have fixed for $1700). Update: I went to another mechanic in Gloucester Massachusetts. They diagnosed the issues I came to Morrison’s for originally. They found that the issue was merely coming from a valve body issue. They didn’t handle the work and refereed me to a transmission specialist in Salem. And they have replaced the valve body for a very reasonable price of 1700 (…. Not 10,000) and my car is driving fantastic. Moving forward I’d recommend Morrisons just be honest they don’t specialize in the work required to handle a case and refer clients to another specialist. That is how the Gloucester mechanic handled my issue and I had the car fixed in under 3 hours. The stress of panicking about my car while working my job having been given false information as a “just leave” quote had enormously negative experiences on my personal life that could have been fully avoided by Morrisons being honest and saying they just didn’t handle the complexity required to do the job. I wouldn’t have written this review. But after weeks of being terrified to drive my car while trying to manage my life, to be told by two other mechanics I was given at Morrisons a “get out” price all purely for a driven desire to not just truthfully say “oh we don’t handle Subaru transmissions”… actually emotionally hurts. They probably are okay with this, but it goes without saying I won’t be coming back. Between having my disability used as a pretext to avoid working on the job (and not just telling me the truth), then being quoted 10,000 and barked at, and then disrupting my actual job by near forcing me to come immediately to pick up the car instead of just letting me come in a few hours after work…..and THEN not even coming out to give me my keys back not wanting to even engage with me while I was leaving, it felt incredibly dehumanizing (clarification: the individual that engaged with me during the mechanic work wouldn’t come out, they handed that task to another employee to complete who did come out). How this was handled was exactly the type of behavior people are referring to when they say they don’t trust mechanics.

The team at Morrison’s was outstanding as usual. Giovanni took my call and got me on the schedule in minutes. Mike and the guys fixed my flat in less than half an hour and sent me on my way. The cost was beyond fair. I will keep bringing my car to Morrison’s because they are the best.

Phenomenal team of professionals. Polite, knowledgeable, transparent, fair, and timely. The drop off / pickup schedule (all done by appmt only) can sometimes be a challenge if you have a 9-5 as they want cars gone by EOD. However, I have been going to them for 6-7 years and they have earned a sterling reputation that is trustworthy. Including once saved me $1000+ by catching a defect in my brake rotors and saving me paying for replacement parts, something that others could have easily charged me for. Highly recommend.

My car broke down on the way to work. After looking for a mechanic nearby, I found Morrisons. After a few hours, they were able to help me with my car. Unfortunately, I did have to tow it back home. But now I know there is a reliable mechanic around the corner from my work! Awesome to do business with! Thank you guys again!
