Arthur's Auto Repair

I brought my L322 Range Rover to this shop because it was experiencing an intermittent issue where the vehicle would randomly display “Key Not Found” and then become unable to start. When I first spoke with Nick, I explained the symptoms, and he told me they had repaired approximately five Range Rovers with the same issue that year. He also mentioned that their mechanic, Arthur, had over 30 years of experience working on these vehicles. Based on that conversation, I felt confident bringing the vehicle in. Nick told me they would scan the car, determine the cause of the problem, explain what was happening, and provide an estimate for the repair. After about eight days, I contacted them for an update. Nick informed me they were still diagnosing the vehicle and had already spent approximately 3.5 hours trying to identify the issue. At that point, he asked whether I wanted them to continue with the diagnostic process. I want to be clear that I have no complaints about Arthur. From my interactions with him, he seems like a genuinely good person who is extremely knowledgeable and experienced with these vehicles. My frustration is not with his work or expertise. Rather, it was the communication and expectations set by Nick that left a bad taste in my mouth. My concern is that I was never given a clear understanding of what the diagnostic costs could amount to before the charges accumulated. Instead, I ended up with a $650 bill without receiving a definitive diagnosis or solution to the problem. While I believe the shop has capable people working there, the lack of communication throughout the process negatively impacted my experience. Unfortunately, I spent a significant amount of money and still do not have a resolution to the original issue.

I've been to Arthur's Repair Shop now multiple times, and they always make the visit as convenient as possible. I've had what would be expensive brake and caliper work done, and both times they've charged really reasonably for the parts and service. Considering the quality of work done by the Mechanic Arthur it is definitely worth it. The GM Nakia is also super helpful when it comes to getting scheduled and all communication about the service. The owner Nick is also super helpful, and he makes you feel welcome at the shop if you want to stay while the work is being done. I would absolutely recommend for anyone in the Boston area looking to have work done without getting gouged by a dealership.

I brought in my '01 Mercedes to go through a whole list of small repairs on a whim, and I could not have had a better experience. I learned a lot, and multiple problems were repaired. I even got my headlights buffed while we were at it. Will definitely be returning to Arthur's! EDIT: I've now been to Arthur's probably about 10 times for various things, and it's been just as good as the first time. Arthur will fix just about any problem, will teach you something if you want to learn about cars, and best of all, is actually an honest mechanic. He won't try to upsell you on something you don't need; his work is high-quality; and the work is fairly priced for the quality. EDIT: Since then, we bought a vintage 2000 Range Rover that has been maintained by Arthur for much of her life. She just hit 150,000 miles and runs perfectly!

Hands down the best Land Rover mechanic in town. Been going here since I purchased my first Range Rover and not going to go anywhere else! Got quoted half of what another service shop quoted me to get my front suspension control arms changed

This is definitely the place to go for Land Rover repairs. Experienced, super friendly and fair prices is key to this establishment success. I'm grateful I found them. Update.. this review might change soon as of Jan 4th. To be determined on a later date till issue is resolved. Update: I noticed that the water pump was leaking 2 days after the repair after the owner came back from his vacation there was a little resistance from him but the new water pump was installed and no leaks are present. I waited in his shop for 5 hours while he pressurized the system which was useless the pump was bad and just needed to be replaced and now it doesn't leak I'm going to leave three stars till the next job I have them do. Overall still a good shop. He replaced my active sway bar bushings and that job was perfectly done.
