Dishonest and Unprofessional - Steer Clear of Gerald Honda of Matteson Service! Bait-and-Switch Tactics at Gerald Honda of Matteson I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at Gerald Honda of Matteson's service department. I brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. During the inspection, they stated that my front and rear brake pads needed replacing - "Front and Rear Brakes replace pads, deglaze rotors, clean slides and break hardware and Replace brake fluid" - and quoted me $950. Thinking this was a bit high, I scheduled the service for two weeks later. However, after they had already started working on my car, they informed me that the rotors needed to be replaced. This was odd considering they had supposedly done a full inspection and initially planned to just deglaze them. This added an extra $600, bringing the total to $1600! This unexpected expense significantly strained my budget. This feels like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. It's incredibly unprofessional to drastically change a quote after starting the work, especially after an inspection and providing a quote. If they had mentioned the potential rotor issue during the initial inspection, I would have been prepared. Instead, they blindsided me with a much higher cost. This experience has left me feeling deeply distrustful of Gerald Honda of Matteson's service department. Their lack of transparency and willingness to inflate prices suggest they are more concerned with maximizing profits than providing honest and reliable service. I recommend avoiding Gerald Honda of Matteson's service department entirely and urge you to look for a more reputable and trustworthy alternative.
