I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received. My vehicle initially failed the emissions test, so I was advised that a diagnostic would be performed for $150. I was informed that if the issue was identified, the diagnostic fee would be waived, and the necessary repairs could then be made. I was told that the problem was a faulty fuel filler neck and that the replacement part would need to be ordered from Honda at a cost of approximately $500. However, after the repairs were supposedly completed, I was presented with a total bill of $1,250 an amount that had never been discussed or approved. When I questioned the unexpected increase, I was met with dismissive and unprofessional comments rather than a clear explanation of the charges. When I expressed that I believed the cost should be closer to $800 based on the initial information provided, I was told to pay $950 in order to retrieve my vehicle. Despite paying this amount, the issue was not resolved. Immediately after leaving, the emissions light came back on, indicating the original problem was still present. This experience was not only misleading but also demonstrated a lack of transparency and accountability. I cannot recommend this business based on the service I received.

Went there yesterday to ask if they can check my truck for it can pass emissions told me the diagnostic would be free went back today to take it for the diagnostic because they were closing took an hour for the diagnostic told me to fix it it would cost 1250 for a O2 sensor and to take air out of fuel system and ended up paying 120 for the diagnostic because they said it’s only free if they fix the truck I was not told that before

Would give them 0 stars if that was an option. Took my equinox to they could pass emissions. Told me it had electrical problem after 1 hr of looking at it. Told me it would be 1250 and he would fix it and pass emissions. Only to call me back the same day and say now it needed catalytic converters and I was gonna need to pay an additional 1750. Bringing my total to 3000. When he originally said 1250 would solve my issue. Definitely would not recommend.

I have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Fraud… Last week I stop at Adams Auto Repair shop to inquire about getting repairs on my truck. The mechanic told me to bring the vehicle in on Monday at 8:00a.m. so that he can put it on the diagnostic machine to see what the problem was. My wife and I brought the truck in Wednesday morning, January 24, 2024 @ 7:49a.m. No one got there until 8:04. They finally let me in. We spoke about what was going on with the truck. The guy told me that he would call me back in approximately 2 hours. Once he called he informed me that my car needed repairs that I am sure were not the issue. I called a mechanic for a second opinion and he confirmed that that wasn't the problem and the cost and time Adams repair shop quoted was totally unreasonable. I spoke back to the repair shop and informed them I would not be using their shop. The mechanic kept insisting that I allow him to make it so my car passes the vehicle emissions test. I stated that I wanted the problem solved not just so it will pass the test but so that my car would be repaired but he kept reiterated that emission point as if that's all that mattered. He then told me that he could “fix” the problem and I wouldn’t have the problem any longer. I did not understand what he meant by that so I then told the guy that I would be there to pick up my vehicle. He stated that I would have to pay him $120 and to pick the car up by 5:00p.m My wife left work early to take me there. We arrived at 4:40p.m and the repair shop was closed. I phoned several time and no one answered. I am very concerned that they kept my car for unscrupulous reasons. They knew I would be there and left anyway. Now I have to miss work the next day; my wife has to be late to work again to take me there. This is horrible. I have attached the many complaints this shop has had and no one has done anything about the way they treat their customers. Please help! Alfred Brooks

amazing mechanic shop helped me when I needed. They saved me from sleeping a 3rd night in Chicago in my car! They are very knowledgeable in their craft and honest people.
