i trailed my 2005 ford ranger here and the manager had walked out and looked at it on the trailer still and basically said yeah should only be $500 i was like sweet. well i get a call later and i was first quoted $1700 for rear drum brakes shoes hardware the entire thing even wheel cylinders for both sides. i asked why is it so much? immediately she says let me talk to my MANAGER 2 minutes pass and she comes back with $1400. what was with that price drop why was i quoted $1700 the first time?? anyways i still said why is it still so much money and asked for another discount she said no we can’t go any lower well my truck was already apart because of the $70 brake inspection fee which i was still charged even after OKing the work. fast forward to picking my truck up. i ask for justification on why it cost so much money the MANAGER comes to talk to me and they show me how much the labor costs and the book time was only 2.9 hours which came out to $290 in labor… i did not get a list showing how much they charged me per part and stuff. mind you the parts probably cost $200-$400 for both sides on my 2005 ford ranger. so i ask for a discount again and they lower it to $1300 and say this is all i can do but if you asked ahead of time before OKing the work we could’ve worked with you more. WHICH I DID IF YOU REMEMBER ME SAYING SHE HAD TO TALK TO HER MANAGER ABOUT THE PRICE OVER THE PHONE AND THEN SAID THEY CANT GO LOWER WHILE ALREADY HAVING MY TRUCK APART AND MIND YOU I HAD TO TRAILER IT THERE. and the cherry on top was getting in my truck and the brake pedal still being spongy AFTER THEY SAID THEY TEST DROVE IT AND SAID IT WAS OK they pull my truck back in and lift it up to ADJUST THE BRAKES you would think they’d pay more attention especially charging $1300 and barely even being able to justify it. i will never use these guys again maybe if they did better work and did it right the first time and also wasn’t scamming people i would’ve had something nice to say. i used this place 3 years ago and they actually did good work and charged me fairly. apparently they have a new manager and i can see he’s doing a great job on scamming people.

Dear Drew Burmeister. Please read entire review to give shop its due. I cannot tell you if Pit Shop Technicians are good mechanics. Car went in for clutch repairs. Agreed to 2K plus additional work. Drove less than 50 miles/3 days on car and had towed back to shop due to free oil leak from bottom of vehicle. Another 1.5K work paid. Over 6K total. Shop had car more than 10 full business days. Got frustrated and decided to cut my losses. Most insulting example of shops attention to detail: picked up car and grease all over door handles inside/out, door frame, hood, stick shift, had to ask for oil change sticker (again), had to ask (again) for parts removed from vehicle, and Chris left shop company insurance card in the passenger seat after test drive. If employees cannot even get the small stuff correct, then makes you wonder about the big stuff. Chris stated over and over “with these cars . . .” and never shared information that was not already known by this owner. I would not recommend shop to my fellow Mini Cooper owners. Seems it is a learn as they go method with their Technicians/Service Manager. I will continue my search for a long-term relationship with mechanic because Cooper owners know we need this for our vehicles.

I brought my car in to repair the passenger window. While the window was repaired, the shop determined that the door lock was not operating, which took several days to identify the root cause. Ben was extremely thorough in contacting me each step of the way to ensure that I understood the reasons for the delay. I had a rental car that I was worried about needing to extend, and Ben ensured that I was informed throughout the entire process. I will be providing Pit Shop with future business and referrals!

I have used this place a couple times now and the level of service received is very comforting. I also appreciate the level of honesty of repair needs and their mechanics' ability. The prices seem very fair and I am very satisfied with the quality overall.

The weather was becoming sub-freezing. The blower motor for my heat was operating sporadically. My previous mechanic was unresponsive to my calls. Found Pit Shop--one mile from my house. Grace, the tech concierge, arranged to look at car within three hours from the time I called. As luck would have it, malfunction would not replicate. Grace told me to come back any time I was driving when error recurred; they would look at car right immediately. Fortunately, it's been a week and I haven't had to return yet. I'll be happy to do so.
