1914 Custom 4X4

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone at 1914 Custom 4x4 in Lombard, IL! After discussing my vision with several different shops, 1914 Custom 4x4 was willing to take on the challenge of building an air suspension setup for my 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid, and they absolutely delivered. I’m extremely happy with the results and will definitely be returning for future work. Liam was incredibly helpful, informative, and made the entire process smooth from start to finish. Kodi was also very knowledgeable and provided great insight on the kit and components used to successfully install the air suspension system. I brought in a Ram Power Wagon for a complete Carli Pintop suspension overhaul with rear airbags and on board compressor. Joe worked with me to buy the parts I wanted and was very communicative from start to finish. No problems whatsoever. The result was great. The truck looks awesome. They’re professionals and know what they’re doing.

I own a 2023 Tacoma TRD Pro, and I absolutely love it. After dealing with suspension issues caused by poor advice from another custom shop, I decided to look for a different one. I’m so glad I found 1914 Custom 4x4!!! Joe, Bill, and Kodi were incredible to work with. Their knowledge, honesty, communication, and overall care were truly above and beyond. Just awesome dudes. We ended up installing a full 3” lift kit with Fox 2.5 reservoir shocks all around, and the results were GAME CHANGING. The truck drives, rides, and handles dramatically better, and it looks amazing! I adore my truck and have put a lot of my own work and love into it. I want people doing the work I can’t personally to have that same love and care. From researching and communicating directly with manufacturers to verify compatibility for my specific trim, to carefully addressing wheel and drivetrain geometry, the professionalism and care was top tier. They even identified unrelated issues and brought them to my attention before they became bigger problems, something I really appreciate personally. The quality of work, combined with their already reasonable pricing, makes this shop exceptional. Anyone looking to customize their 4x4 (regardless of make) will be extremely happy with the service here.

Had them perform a pre-purchase inspection on a used Wrangler and dealt with Liam. We talked and messaged for 2 days and he put up with all my picky questions and paranoias. The crew who did the inspection found one issue I definitely would have missed (this alone would have cost about the same as the inspection in a best case scenario) and another that I probably would have missed even by getting under the jeep and yanking around on things like I should (a 6-7 hundred dollar fix that I can now negotiate on). Well worth it. Friendly. Recommend them for sure.
