Des Plaines Automotive and Tire Repair is a phenomenal repair facility. Nick’s a very knowledgeable person. He’s a great mechanic, as are his other mechanics. He does great work, clean, and very fair in price. He’s been servicing our 3 Mercedes and my Moms 2026 Lexus RX350h. Nick knows a ton about cars, as do his mechanics, they do quality dealership work for 1/3 the price. He’s rebuilt tons of BMW’s, Chevy LS engines, GMC’s engine rebuilds, timing chains, FORD’s , FireBirds, even Supercharged a Range Rover. We trust this shop, I highly recommend Nick and his crew.

I went to 2 dealers, 2 mechanics, and a transmission repair. All too busy to really dig in. When driving down River Road I stopped to get an opinion. Nick stopped what he was doing and went with me to test drive. His team replaced what was suggested for thousands of dollars at other places. The problem was intermittent. Nick stuck with it and worked with me to finally get it resolved. His customer service and diligence are unmatched. If you want a great mechanic, honest person and partner in maintaining your vehicle THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. Thanks Nick and team.

A few weeks ago I went to Des Plaines auto clinic for an oil change on my Prius with my own full synthetic Mobile 1 oil and a Toyota oil filter. Today I checked the oil and was shocked to see that it was below minimum level. I went to a different shop today and they told me not only that the oil filter wasn’t secured which caused the leaking but it wasn’t an OEM Toyota filter. So there are two options: Either they used a third-party aftermarket brand filter and did a very poor job at installing it or they didn’t even change the oil. If they did change it, I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept the Mobile 1 oil that I gave them and used a cheaper brand. I bought the car 2 months ago and I don’t know what kind of oil filter was installed when I got the car but I know for sure that today I should’ve seen an OEM Toyota filter. Highly NOT recommend this scamming business! 0 stars if I could! 👎

Fantastic Nick the owner is with out a doubt the best mechanic I have ever had work on my cars and I have been driving for 60 years .His team is the best ,dedicated to fix and stay fixed everything pertaining to your vehicle..A class act car repair shop including all the gentlemen he has on his team. You don't get this kind of service anymore from many but Desplaines auto clinic stands head and shoulders above the rest.
