12.09.23 I left my Lexus GS350 at this service To replace my engine, as the timing chain on my old one broke, I purchased an engine from eBay myself and brought it to the repair shop along with my car. We agreed on the cost before I delivered the car, but after the towing truck unloaded it, they informed me that the cost would be 40% higher. I agreed, as arranging another towing would have been even more expensive. After replacing the engine, which had only 50k miles and was imported from Japan, they told me my car battery needed to be replaced because it was old and couldn’t hold a charge from the engine. Although the battery was only a year old, I didn’t argue and paid an additional $220. Then, they informed me that the issue with the lack of charge from the alternator was due to its malfunction and that it needed to be replaced. They claimed my old alternator, which was covered in oil, couldn’t be installed. They offered me options costing $420 and $600. After checking on eBay and other stores, where the part cost no more than $100, I declined, realizing something was off with their repair process. I asked them to leave the car as it was without trying to fix the alternator. When I went to pick up my car, they refused to provide any documentation proving that I had the repair done at their shop. They explained that since I had brought my own engine, they wouldn’t issue any paperwork (even though I wasn’t asking for a warranty, just a receipt for payment). They also insisted I pay via Zelle because paying by credit card would incur an additional 10% fee. I had to pay for towing again and bring the car home. Afterward, my neighbor, who is a mechanic, discovered that my old battery was still installed and that a nut was missing on the main relay block, preventing proper contact for charging. In total, I paid 80% more than agreed for the service, additional towing costs, and for a battery that I never received. I have photos from their shop, as well as a complete correspondence with their employee. This ordeal ended on 01.06.2024, after 32 days without my car—simply because the team seemed unqualified and attempted to charge me excessively. Unfortunately for them, their scheme didn’t work!
