I had an warranty from the Velasquez in Markham, which clised down, for my rear brakes. I had some squeaking. Well they cover the part but not the labor. For the labor they charged me a flat rate of $200, to honor the warranty. There's a sign posted 150 an hour. It took them less than 45 mins to fix my car. It sat in there lot for 10 minutes, just to make it close to an hour. Shady.. They charged me for more than a hour worth of work. I was also informed I need front brakes/rotors.. sooo if I hear any squeaking it's that. Thumbs down 👎🏾.. Now that I'm driving my car, brakes squeal and there's noise under my vehicle 🤬 I don't think I needed my back brakes fix. Brakes still making noise

I brought my truck here three weeks ago for an oil change and they left the filter wrong. I got left on the side of the highway because of all the oil that leaked out. I had to pay for someone to come and pick me up to tow truck, cleaning of the truck because the oil made a mess everywhere, and for them to fix the problem. The mechanic at the other place told me that since I had run the truck without oil that in the near future, the engine could stop working. I've never been to a mechanic shop where they disregard their clients like this, especially after an error as big as this. I was told that it was not their problem since it hadn't happened the day of. If I could give them zero stars I would. Don't come here unless you want to pay them to mess up your car on purpose.

Took the truck to them to get a starter only gave me 90 days warranty and they broke all the starter bolts and didn’t care to even try to replacing them. They put 1 bolt to hold my starter up that wasn’t even the original bolt. Charged me $450 to do this crap. They do shady work at all locations.

Be Careful at Velasquez Chicago Heights — Dishonest Diagnostic Practices I went to Velasquez in Chicago Heights because my car’s check engine light was on. AutoZone told me it was the catalytic converter, so I purchased the correct one and brought it in for installation. After inspection, they told me my catalytic converter was in good condition and that the issue was the three flex pipes, which I paid $450 to replace. A few days later, the same problem returned — same noise, same check engine light. When I went back, the same shop told me now it’s the catalytic converter after all, even though I was told to return the one I had already purchased based on their advice. I ended up paying for unnecessary repairs, return shipping, and now they’re asking for another $350 to fix what I initially came in for. This experience was disappointing and felt misleading. As a Black woman, it’s disheartening to constantly feel taken advantage of in car repair spaces. Please double-check diagnostics before agreeing to costly repairs and get a second opinion. Honest service matters.
