Dales Auto Care is wonderful; fair and ethical in every way! They carefully evaluated our vehicle, and arrived at the most likely culprits. However, before simply recommending we proceed with repairs; they treated us like friends- telling us we might want to go back to our trusty tire company who did the recent tires/brakes, and see if they’d re-check one detail under warranty; just in case there was a chance it was related. The dealership and other repair shop we used to go to would never have considered telling us “hey before we fix this, go try this other option first, it may save you a lot.” Thank you, Dales!

Dale's Auto Care is an excellent, caring, honest, and talented team of mechanics. I was traveling and had a catastrophic failure of my cooling system ten miles south of Boise. I chose to have my truck towed there and they immediately got it into the shop. I was treated as a friend the second I arrived and I cannot recommend this shop enough! All of the employees I interacted with were kind, professional and personable.

Dale’s Auto Care provides excellent customer service! Not only did Russ accommodate me for a timely service appointment and repair, but then they also covered under warranty a previously installed water pump. Appreciate these guys and their attention to detail. The timing problem I had on my truck was repaired promptly and now has a very smooth idle! Thanks Dale’s!!

I had Dale's do a valve adjustment on my 2021honda CRV 1.5L turbo. Now, I am a mechanic by trade, but I work on construction and commercial landscape equipment, and I probably could have done this work myself, but i opted to have it done at an auto shop for convenience and peace of mind. I chose Dale's because of some great reviews, their close proximity to my place, and the quick turnaround that they offered. Three stars, because they did some things really well, and some other things VERY badly. Here is my experience. Wednesday I called to get an estimate for a valve lash adjustment. My service writer was friendly and helpful, quickly emailed me an estimate. Which was great! Thursday I called to schedule the work, and to have them add spark plugs to the job. I didn't ask for an estimate for the spark plugs, because I know what they cost (around $80 for the required 4, for my four cylinder engine+ or minus a few) and I know that when doing a valve adjustment, they are right there anyways, in fact, the spark plugs have to come out to get the valve cover off. So I expected there shouldn't be any additional labor. I made the appointment for Friday. Very happy at this point! 100/100 Friday I brought my car in, and while dropping it off my service writer gave me the total I would be paying....which was $400 more than the cost of the valve adjustment. I dont like arguing with shops about these things so I just declined the work. But it definitely didn't give me the warm fuzzies. Upon pickup of my vehicle, the invoice I received had no story from the technician on it. So I asked how far out of adjustment the valve lash was, and a sense of panic came over the room. It was like I was asking a politician about their stock portfolio. Didn't get a real answer. Definitely no warm fuzzies there. So now I'm sitting here, wondering if they really did any work at all, and considering taking my car to another shop to get my valve lash checked/adjusted. Part of turning wrenches on people's vehicles is keeping records of everything you find along the way, and putting that in front of the customer when they come to give you their hard earned money. 0/100 for that part. And it really bummed me out to feel like they were trying to rip me off on the spark plug job. They literally had to take them out to do the valve adjustment. 0/100 Barring these gentlemen reaching out with something reassuring to me that the work was done, and any explanation of why I would've been looking at an additional $300 just in labor alone to put new spark plugs in instead of reinstalling the old ones, I unfortunately can't recommend this shop for any sort of work. It bums me out most, because I like to support small local businesses when I can. Especially since I work in an adjacent industry.
