Ladies in Boise, this is the best car shop in town. It's pretty well-known that you have to be careful you don't get taken advantage of if you're a woman who clearly isn't very knowledgeable about cars, like I am. I had a problem with my Honda a few months ago, and I was recommended Boise Foreign Car Service. I scheduled an appointment and they got me in quickly. I very obviously did not know much about cars, but they didn't take advantage of that. They quoted me a price to fix my transmission. I looked up the standard price range for that fix, got quotes from other shops, and it was right in the middle of all the numbers I was getting. That price stayed the same the whole way through; no surprise charges or upselling or anything. They didn't tell me that I had to do a bunch of different things, or try to get me to fix more than what I wanted. They gave me a list of things to look out for, and fixes I'd need in the future, but they didn't demand I do it right-here-right-now. Anyway, they had my car done in a couple days, which was way less time than I expected. It's been a few months now, and my car is still working great, so I now feel comfortable leaving this review. I'll keep going to them. They're honest, transparent, and professional.

Arguably one of the best mechanics in town. I won't take my Honda or Toyota to anyone else. They've been very generous with offering free advice on DIY repairs.

Hands down the most honest mechanic shop you could ask for. I know that Tom and Tammy are never ripping me off and only doing what my car needs, never upselling me on unncessary services. I will be a customer for life because of the following story: Last summer when I was driving my kids by myself to Lake Tahoe and my car started making a funny sound when I was in the middle of nowhere, sort of near Winnemucca. I have always had all my work on the car done at Boise Foreign Car so I called to ask for advice if I should turn around, get the car checked out in Winnemuca or if I could keep driving in the dead heat of summer alone with my 4 kids to our family reunion in Tahoe. Tom got on the phone with me, asked me a bunch of questions about the noise the car was making, and then told me he felt confident I could keep driving safely on my trip and to just stop by the shop next week to get the car looked at! I safely made the trip without a problem and felt so relieved after having Tom's blessing to continue on my vacation. My husband and I have taken our three cars to Tom for almost 15 years and we won't go anywhere else! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is the best shop I’ve ever worked with. Tom and his team do too notch work, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to keep our Toyotas on the road. My car is about to roll over 200k miles and it pays a visit to Boise Foreign Car every 5000k miles. I appreciate Tom always giving a heads up on upcoming maintenance so we can plan ahead.

Had a hard to figure out oil leak on 2006 Honda pilot in multiple places and timing belt replacement. Very reasonable prices on timing belt especially compared to dealer. Fixed our oil leak problem that multiple mechanics could not help me with. So happy to have done my major maintenance here and will do so for all my Hondas in the future. Thank you so much!!!!
