Javier was not there to work on our vehicle unfortunately, and I am sure had he been there, it would've been different. However, it's worth noting that our experience was due to the other staff. I brought my vehicle in after reading the code on my own scanner. I clearly communicated the code, the symptoms, and the likely cause to the shop at drop-off around 8am. At that time, the check engine light was no longer on, which I also explained to the young guy. Despite this, no one contacted me or my fiancé for authorization before beginning repairs. I only learned that the thermostat was already being replaced when I called around 3 pm for an update. At that point, I was told the work had already started and given a final bill. It seemed inflated so I asked for a break down and sure enough, it definitely was for the level of service and experience. While I understand shop markups, I do not understand proceeding with repairs without customer approval or a clear estimate beforehand. For the labor rate charged, I expected a higher level of professionalism, communication, and attention to detail. The thermostat replacement may have resolved the issue, but the overall experience was disappointing. The shop did call earlier to say there was no active code and no check engine light; however, work was later started without clearly confirming authorization or providing an updated estimate. Additionally, while the thermostat was replaced, there was no discussion or recommendation to replace the coolant temperature sensor, even though it is inexpensive and commonly replaced at the same time to prevent another issue later. When I asked afterward, I was told there was "no need," despite the component being the same age and the vehicle already being serviced. Overall, the experience felt rushed and transactional rather than careful or expert-driven. The receptionist's tone came across as defensive instead of informative. Better communication and attention to detail would go a long way for the younger staff to earn the level of respect Javier clearly has built over decades. I hope this feedback helps the younger, inexperienced staff improve communication and customer transparency going forward.

They were great! Diagnosed a transmission leak that another mechanic shop failed to fix, and replaced my front struts in only a day or two. Was honest with me about which fixes were necessary and which fixes could be held off on.

So hard to find an honest mechanic these days. I took my daughter’s car there because the brakes were making a grinding noise. Weird since they never squealed but definitely sounded like we were into the rotors. Dropped off her car expecting a big bill. Javier called me and said my pads were at 70% and rotors are fine. Problem was that car her sits outside parked for 1-2 months while she is off to college so the rotors are rusting a bit. He said to drive it a few days and the pads will wear the rust off. He was 100% right. He could have fleeced me for $1200 but he didn’t. Respect! Love seeing businesses practice the Golden Rule.

I have been a customer since they were owned by Corky. That’s 20 + years. My 2013 Jeep Wrangler was over heating and I had it towed to their garage. The new owner/mechanic said it was the engine coolant pump NOT the radiator that I inquired about. He assured me it was not the radiator and I authorized and paid him to repair the Jeep. First drive after I pick it up, it overheats! I have it towed back and he now tells me it is the radiator! I remind him that he assured me it was NOT the radiator and he says, “oh no this is new, it isn't related.” He then says it will be $1300 dollars to replace after the $1100 for the water pump. I asked him why he would try to charge full price and he says it is a new problem!!!! I was beyond pissed off and vowed to never do business with this guy again. They are either incompetent or crooks! Either way they earned this bad review and while I can’t get my money back, hopefully it will save someone else!

Javier has worked on two of my cars, he is honest and thorough. As long as he is around, I won't take my car anywhere else. He works on all cars. I have sent my Aunt to him (she couldn't have been happier), and will be sending my Dad to him to work on his 1987 Porsche 928. Don't look further, Javier's your man!
