Worst mechanic experience I’ve ever had. The initial price seemed low, but the entire experience felt dishonest. I was repeatedly given questionable explanations that seemed designed to justify additional charges. I brought my car in for a transmission fluid change because another mechanic had already diagnosed that the transmission fluid needed to be replaced due to a warning light on my dashboard. After the service, the warning light was still on. Instead of checking whether the code had simply not been cleared, they immediately told me there must be another issue with the car and that I needed additional diagnostics. The explanation was vague and didn’t make much sense, especially since it appeared that the code had not been cleared after the service. To make matters worse, they left my window open while working on the car. When I picked it up, the window would no longer close completely. This problem did not exist before I brought the car in. When I pointed it out, they dismissed it as “just an old car issue” and suggested I would need to pay more to have it fixed. If you don’t want your car coming back with new problems and questionable explanations, I strongly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else.

Best mechanic in the whole Santa Monica. Family owned and operated. Very kind owner. I came to him two times. First for a transmission fluid change and then for motor mounts on my 2010 Volkswagen. He did it in 3 hours, I didn’t even have to wait for the parts to arrive. Other places quoted me 500$+ or some even twice as much. He did it cheaper, better and faster. Also I had a bubble on my wheel and didn’t have enough money to fix it. So he gave me even a better price so that I could fix it at the other shop. When I was calling other places they couldn’t even quote me. This place - awesome. I will be definitely coming back for such a welcoming visit

I bought my BMW X6 there they completely ruined. My car told me the mileage on it was 75K told me that there’s no way that they could check the transmission. I would have to just go off their word they overcharge me 7200 for terrible job. My transmission was still slipping so I ended up taking it to a BMW tech and that’s where it’s at now getting fixed. My BMW. Technician said that he corrupted my full Transmission. I had them check it and scan the transmission it end up having 95K miles on it. They completely ripped me off don’t ever go here. They will sell you a high mileage transmission and charge you high thinking that you’re buying low miles Transmission. Un honest their rip offs they’re high for absolutely nothing unprofessional. They kept saying this day then two days later they say this day then three days later they say this day my car was sitting for a whole three weeks. This is by for the worst Transmission place I’ve ever went to. I’m thinking I was in Culver City that it would be nice. They charge me and ripped me off. This doesn’t even get a one star

The best. Have been talking an old Subaru here for years. Every time I think this is the end for the car, Maxx finds a budget friendly fix and keeps my car running. Incredible prices - a lot of the time I’ll bring the car in, they fix the issue in the morning, and either charge me nothing or no labor. Can’t recommend enough

I originally took my car for a leaking transmission to Westside Transmission and Automotive Inc. on Cotner ave. They said I needed a rebuilt transmission and quoted me $5,000. When I asked about just replacing it with a used transmission, they said it would cost even more. I took the car back and brought it to Maax Transmission. They patched up a leaking seal and saved me an enormous amount of time and money. They had my car back to me extremely quick. Just can't say enough about this place. Honest and complete pros. Absolutely 1,000% recommend.
