Gere Auto Repair

I recently moved from Canada and brought my car in for an oil change. I was advised to purchase a comprehensive vehicle inspection for about $350, with the explanation that it would help me plan future maintenance. I agreed, and the total bill with the oil change was around $500. I was told the vehicle was in excellent condition, with the only issue being that the spark plugs were overdue for replacement. Just two days later, the A/C stopped working. Since the inspection report had indicated everything was in good working order, I returned to have it checked. The service advisor agreed to inspect it, but there was no discussion about diagnostic fees. On the day of my appointment, I received an authorization request for around $600 just for diagnosis, which I initially assumed was for the repair itself. After inspecting the vehicle, I was quoted over $3,300 (before tax) to replace the A/C compressor. I declined the repair and was charged about $450 for the inspection, including $110 for a tire puncture repair. I then took my car to Canada, where the A/C was repaired within three days for under $900. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop if you’re looking for competitive pricing or good value. The inspection did not identify a major issue that appeared almost immediately afterward, the diagnostic costs were not clearly communicated upfront, and the repair estimate was several times higher than what I ultimately paid elsewhere. I encourage customers to obtain a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs.

I'm a Subaru guy. I hired Gere to replace the clutch, flywheel, and worn down linkage in my 2007 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT. Jason (front end manager) was very pleasant to deal with, the pricing was fair and service prompt. This shop has Subaru master technician knowledge and performance. I will recommend Gere in the future.

Subaru broke down on I-90 and I was able to drive it here by chance. Cale and the team were incredibly kind, understanding, and knowledgeable about the car's issue and next steps. I felt lucky to have broken down where I did, and got the car repaired by them as well in a timely manner. I rarely write reviews, but I was very impressed with this place! Thanks again!

Excellent as usual. Great friendly people quality work. Like being advised on any issues with vehicle and told what is necessary and what can wait. Nice to deal with honest people since dealership service is interested in how much money the can get from you rather than then needed repairs. Will always use Gere!!

I had a great experience with Gere Auto diagnosing a check engine light on my high schooler’s car. They helped me document a comprehensive maintenance check and were able to zero in on the issue. What I really liked was that they don’t unnecessarily recommend additional services, great local option that I would handily recommend.
