I purchased my vehicle at Cal cars. Within a week and a half I began to notice some major issues. I called the service department and was scheduled quickly. We were made aware that my ball joint and strut needed to be replaced. I was extremely upset that I had just purchased this vehicle and I already needed a major repair. James and who I believe was the lead mechanic assisted me and made sure that I was taken care of. The repairs were made immediately with zero cost to me. I highly recommend a WARRANTY as that also was a big part of paying zero. During that visit, we had also brought up issues with low coolant, heater blowing cold air, etc. We were told that it didn't seem to be an issue since we had filled the coolant. They said to bring it back if we noticed more problems. Well, the car began to hesitate and continued to leak fluid. We took it back to the service department to be diagnosed. The engine was blown. The cost of a replacement was over $7k. My warranty covered 5k. My husband and I had several conversations with James and Dustin about how the costs would be covered. We did not feel that we should be liable considering we had the car for a very short time and it had already displayed issues that we had reported. James helped us as much as he could. He found an engine quickly with a bit less mileage and got the warranty company to cover it. He stayed in contact and kept me in the loop throughout the process. When he had done all that he could, he referred me to Dustin. Dustin heard us out and agreed that we shouldn't be liable for the costs. Dustin covered all costs that my warranty did not cover. Without James and Dustin, this all could have went a very different way. I truly appreciate both of these stellar people.

When it comes to vehicle maintenance, finding a team you can actually trust is half the battle. My recent experience with the CAL Cars Service department was outstanding, proving why they are our go-to choice for our rigs. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze thanks to Don; he is incredibly straightforward and keeps everything right up front, so there are never any confusing surprises regarding what’s being done. ​I also had the chance to chat with the manager, Dustin, who is genuinely nice and clearly invested in his customers. He went out of his way to help us figure out the best service plan for our specific needs. Both Dustin and Don consistently go above and beyond to "dial in" upcoming major services, helping us prioritize the most urgent repairs first so we can plan ahead. ​While you wait, the guest area is comfortable and well-stocked with plenty of drinks, making the downtime easy. It is rare to find a shop that balances professional expertise with such a personal touch. We will definitely continue bringing our vehicles here!

Feb. 18th. 26 Ive had 2 car from them in less than 8 months. That should tell you everything you need to know about this dealership. I brought my vehicle in for a check engine light and an O2 sensor replacement. Prior to the repair, the vehicle drove normally aside from the warning light. Immediately after the repair the car began running rough. My boyfriend noticed the sensor appeared to be installed in the wrong location. When the shop rechecked the vehicle they confirmed it had been installed incorrectly. They corrected the installation, replaced multiple O2 sensors, covered labor, and performed additional work. The car then drove normally for approximately one week. After that, a catalytic converter code appeared and the vehicle now requires converter replacement. When I spoke with the owner and service manager, they denied the earlier incorrect installation was related to the failure despite the drivability issue beginning immediately after the repair. I called the owner, George and talked with him. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly. I recommend getting everything in writing. When I picked up my car I was told that it didn't make financial sense to help me anymore. They fixed smaller things to make it seem like I was "taken care of" but then later denied it was ever an issue on their end. I asked for my documents for all the service I had done on my car. Conveniently in their work logs and side notes it was never mentioned that they installed the o2 sensor incorrectly. Even though it was said to me multiple times, and apologized for multiple times. (Original review) I originally left Cal Cars a positive review in July, but after going through two cars in six months, I feel obligated to update it. And warn others. (This is my 1st experience buying a car) I would give 0 stars if I could. Car #1 – 2016 Hyundai Tucson: The check engine light came on the day after I bought it. Service fixed it and said they had “sway” with my warranty company. Two weeks later another major issue came up — over $2,000 and not covered. I hadn’t even made my first payment. When I asked Cal Cars for help, they refused. They offered to buy it back with $6,000 negative equity, claiming I “caused the damage” and wouldn’t get my down payment back. They also told me they wouldn’t resell it for the same price because I “put miles on it.” A week later, I found the exact same car listed on their website again — at the same price I bought it for. That alone tells me everything I needed to know about their honesty. Car #2 – 2017 Nissan Maxima: It drove fine until October when the check engine light came on. Their service department said it was an O2 sensor, but my warranty “only covers 1 of the 4”—conveniently not the one that failed. They tried to charge me $150 just for diagnostics unless I replaced the one that was covered. Customer service is even worse. Don in service is consistently rude, dismissive, and talks down to you for asking basic questions. When I asked if he could contact the warranty company (because multiple employees told me Cal Cars has pull), he acted annoyed and said they “won’t go to bat” for me. Later, my boyfriend discovered they replaced the wrong O2 sensor compared to what was on the receipt. Bottom line: Cal Cars is no better than the sketchy lots on Sprague. I’ve had two problematic cars from them in under six months and got nothing but stress, money loss, and terrible service. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

James is absolutely the BEST! We had been disappointed that the pickup we bought at Cals Cars has had many problems and had lost all faith in the company. James, in the service department, restored our faith that they really do want their customers to have a great experience with them. He is professional, very welcoming, concerned that their service department does fast and reliable work, and worked to get our extended warranty to cover as much of the cost as possible. Because of him, we will not hesitate to use their service department for our vehicle upkeep/repairs.

Took our 2013 Honda Odyssey in because the cable on the automatic door snapped. Don and crew make you feel valued as soon as you walk in. The front desk staff ans mechanics clearly care about the customer. They did an amazing job getting our van back to original. The first thing they tried actually didn’t fix it completely. They needed a small part to make it work, so they ordered and installed it and we walked out paying the original bid! I feel like this doesn’t happen anymore! What amazing customer service and work. Will def go back!
