I am in Laredo and I found myself needing to replace a clutch on my 2021 Subaru STI. If you’re a Subaru owner, you know not just anyone can service this platform. So a reputable Subaru specialist repair shop was a MUST. There are no Subaru specialist repair shops here locally so I knew it would be daunting to locate a repair shop I could trust especially out of town. So I contacted a few shops including dealerships when I came across Six Star on my Google search of local Subaru repair specialists. I was greeted on the phone by Austin and he was very polite and helpful. He answered all my questions and sent me a quote. He quoted me a VERY fair price and a timely appointment schedule to accommodate me because I would be coming in from out of town. When I arrived at his shop I was greeted by Austin and you could tell by his workshop HE IS a Subaru specialist/enthusiast. I immediately felt like my car was in good hands. We agreed on a work timeframe and he was true to his word. He had it installed and ready with the clutch replaced in less than a full day. I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship and professionalism I got from Six Star and Austin. I have found my new Subaru mechanic and I will rely on him for any future repairs I may need that I cannot repair myself. Thanks Austin.

After many challenges and headaches my IAG short block and WRX tossed at Six Star. They did not give up! I recently got my car tuned after the required break in period. I couldn’t be happier! 320 HP and 315 TQ car runs and sounds great! Major thanks to Austin and his crew at Six Star!

Heard a lot about Austin's work and decided I could trust them for some maintenance I wasn't looking forward to doing myself. He and his team did an excellent job on my direct injection valve cleaning service. Intake ports look almost brand new despite having 60,000 miles on my ride. And these are ENTHUSIASTS. They know Subaru's in and out. I'll be coming here for as long as they're in business 🤘

So happy to have a go-to Subaru mechanic now!! Highly recommend Austin at Six Star; his communication was always prompt and personable, and his professionalism and skill kept the repairs efficient and cost-effective. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! I called mid-December, needing a repair for my Crosstrek Hybrid. Austin answered my call promptly and was able to fit me in the next day (I was not available same day, and had an hour commute to his shop--well worth it!). Austin called me about 30 minutes after I'd dropped off my car to to confirm that his hunch of the root issue was correct; he had the necessary parts on hand and was able to give me an updated quote and get it done same day. Probably saved me at least two hours of "labor and diagnostics" that would've happened anywhere else! The next day when my sister was able to bring me back to pick up my car (which is doing great now!), she decided to leave hers there for a similar repair (she drives a Forester, and for her, both front control arms were causing vibration issues, not just one, as in my case). We were both able to get our cars road-worthy again in the space of just a few days. I especially appreciated how down to earth Austin was. He did well at presenting pertinent facts and options, and was ready to explain more whenever we asked without *ever* being pushy, arrogant, or condescending. You can tell he loves his work, and cares about doing it with excellence, while treating people well. Here's hoping I won't need a repair again very soon...but when I do, I know who to reach out to for honest, reliable work, and that's a comfort!

I had an issue with another shop and Austin was able to diagnose and get the car back on the road again. He is very down to Earth and talks to me like a person and not a business transaction. I’ve been to a few shops with my big turbo build and I have never felt as a customer but more of a transaction. At six star I had lots of questions and Austin was able to answer them and put my mind at ease. I drove 3 hours to that ship and will definitely go back in the future if needed. Update: so the car is making 40lbs of boost and over 700 and I could push it more but rather not. Austin did an amazing job and attention to detail so big or small job he’s got you.
