Chase at West Lake Houston Auto Repair truly goes the extra mile! After my longtime mechanic retired, I was lucky to find this family-owned and operated shop—and I couldn’t be happier. I had my truck towed in for a battery issue along with a few other repairs. While it was being serviced, I unexpectedly ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and was there much longer than planned. When I was finally discharged, Chase and the team went above and beyond by personally delivering my truck to my home. That level of kindness and customer care is hard to find these days. If you're looking for an honest, reliable auto repair shop that genuinely cares about its customers, I highly recommend West Lake Houston Auto Repair. They’ve definitely earned a customer for life.

Do not go to this company. They will take your money and fail to fix your vehicle’s issues. They took $6,100 in government funds to repair my husband’s car. My husband served 21 years in the Army and is medically retired. I have been ignored by the manager, Jay, who constantly blames his staff for the poor service. Bri goes along with his excuses and seems afraid to speak up because she doesn’t want to lose her job. Chase answers the phone but never seems to know what is going on. There have been several complaints posted in our Kingwood Facebook group, and this appears to be an ongoing issue that has been happening for years. The owner, Tim, hides behind his staff and will not return phone calls or emails. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General’s Office. I am now seeking legal representation immediately. This review is based on my personal experience with this company.

I was not going to leave a review but they sent me an email... I did not know that Texas no longer requires a state inspection and my sticker expired. I went in and got my state inspection, which they happily did and charged me for, only to find out it is not required when I went to register. Why would they not advise me that it is no longer needed? So they can take my money..... I will not be back.

I have gone back and forth about writing this review because I wanted to give West Lake Houston Automotive every opportunity to make things right. Unfortunately, after nearly a year of dealing with the same vehicle and ongoing repair issues, I feel other customers deserve to know my experience. I brought my 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman to the shop in June 2025 for overheating, battery issues, and a check engine light. After diagnostics and multiple recommended repairs, my vehicle remained at the shop for approximately seven months. During that time, I approved repairs, paid thousands of dollars, and trusted that the vehicle was being properly diagnosed and repaired. In January 2026, I was finally able to pick up the vehicle. After waiting seven months, I was relieved to have it back. Unfortunately, that relief lasted only about three days. The vehicle developed additional problems and had to be returned to the shop almost immediately. Since then, the cycle has continued. More issues have been identified, more repairs have been recommended, and more time has passed. At one point, I was told additional repairs required an oil filter housing and cooling fan assembly. In an effort to move the process along, I personally purchased the requested parts and had them delivered to the shop. Months later, my vehicle still remains unresolved. What has been most frustrating is the lack of clear communication and constantly changing expectations. Most recently, I was told by management that the vehicle would be repaired and ready for pickup on Monday. After waiting Monday and Tuesday without hearing anything, I called for an update. I was then informed that the vehicle was not ready and that another leak had been discovered. After nearly a year, countless phone calls, months without transportation, customer-supplied parts, and thousands of dollars spent, I am still being told about new problems and new leaks. I was also informed during a recent conversation that there was approximately $2,500 in credit associated with my account. When I asked about a refund, I was told a refund could not be issued and that management would have to determine whether those funds could be returned to the company that assisted with the repairs. As a customer, that only added to my concerns about the status of my account and the overall handling of this repair. I understand that Mini Coopers can be difficult vehicles to diagnose and repair. I understand that unexpected problems can arise. What I struggle to understand is how a vehicle can remain in a repair facility for approximately seven months, be returned to the customer, fail within three days, return to the shop, and still not be resolved many months later. I am not writing this review out of anger. I am writing it because I believe customers should know what my experience has been. I sincerely hope ownership reviews this matter, examines the timeline, and works toward a fair resolution. After posting this review and my Kingwood community group as well as our subdivision group, I see that I am not the only person that has had this experience with this company. It’s been several. People scammed out of money At this point, I am simply asking for accountability, transparency, and closure.
