OK so I have to be honest with you all — I drove past this place like three times before I finally pulled in because I had read some of the reviews and I was NOT feeling confident. Like at all. But my neighbor — who I trust with my life — told me to just go, and they have all these certifications on the wall so I figured OK fine, let me just try it. I brought my 2015 Cadillac XTS in and I had never dealt with an insurance claim for body work before so I was already kind of a mess about it. And they were just… so patient with me. Like they sat down and actually explained everything. What was going to happen, what the insurance company was going to do, what I needed to do. I didn’t feel stupid asking questions and trust me I had a lot of them lol. And can I just say — my car looks AMAZING. Like I actually teared up a little when I saw it because it looked exactly the way it did when I drove it off the lot. The color match, the finish, everything. My husband even said something and he never notices anything so that tells you all you need to know 😂 I also want to say something about the negative reviews because I almost let them stop me from coming and I really wish someone had written this for me before I went. One person was upset because they wanted like an old fashioned hammer and bondo type repair and the shop wouldn’t do it that way. What I didn’t know — and what I’ve since learned — is that shops with certain manufacturer certifications actually have rules about HOW they’re allowed to repair things. They can’t just do it whatever way is cheapest or quickest because they have standards they have to meet. That’s not them trying to rip you off, that’s them actually doing things the RIGHT way. I mean would you rather go to a doctor who follows medical guidelines or one who just wings it? Same thing honestly. And the insurance stuff — they handled everything. I didn’t have to chase anybody down or make a million phone calls. They knew exactly how to talk to the insurance company and get everything processed. For someone like me who gets anxiety just thinking about that kind of thing, it was such a relief. I genuinely cannot say enough good things. My Cadillac looks brand new, the whole process was way less painful than I expected, and everyone I dealt with was kind and professional. I’ve already recommended them to two of my girlfriends. If you’re sitting there reading reviews and talking yourself out of going — don’t. Just go. I promise you I was way more nervous than you are and it turned out completely fine. More than fine actually.

Not really a "body" shop. A "replace parts and paint" shop. A real body shop should be able to repair the dent shown below, with hammers, slide hammer, bondo, etc. They wanted $1,500 to replace the entire tailgate for this medium severity dent from a tree branch. My car is a 2014 and probably worth $3,000 to $4,000. I get it, they're busy and don't want to leave money on the table. But for most people it won't be worth it to repair your car here, just sell it for parts and get another. Very young group of guys in the front office. They took a long time with their "estimate" trying to maximize book time. If you don't know about book time you need to learn about it for being able to deal with car repair shops. I made it clear that my expectation was to have the dent repaired in place so it was a deliberate waste of time. While I was looking at the damage initially with the first guy, someone was repeatedly revving the engine and squealing the tires, back and forth, on a vehicle to be repaired that was just outside the repair bay. Presumably this was a customer's car. Made me feel fairly uncomfortable and unsafe and the shop seem unprofessional. Too many young guys goofing around, not enough serious workers. I didn't even need all that much skilled labor. I went home and did it myself, tapped it out close to original shape in about two hours, someone with better tools and experience could have done it in maybe 1 hour. Edit, response to response. It was more like 20 minutes. I was clear about my expectations and nobody told me "we don't do that kind of work". You wasted my time and yours. You've clearly trained the front office guys on upsell above all else. Almost no one needs a lifetime OEM repair on a 10+ year old vehicle. I don't care if it "fails", I really just need it to drain water. You're not doing any favors by not doing that work, you're up-selling. I stand by my assessment that this business is misclassified on Google as a body shop. It's general mechanic and paint shop. I'll go even further and say that your employees crossed over the line from upselling to lying by saying that the repair would be so difficult and time consuming that replacement was actually the cheaper option. They made me feel foolish and as I was leaving one person seemed to want me to bargain and state my expectations, which I more or less had already done at the very beginning. It's more than a "vibe" problem, it's a safety concern that I witnessed as well as misuse of a customer's (presumably) vehicle. "We're a factory recognized.." I find it hard to believe that you couldn't have two tiers of repair if you wanted to. Seems like bs and misleading, another small lie. You don't mention Mazda so why should anyone at Mazda care how you repair my vehicle if it's a cosmetic repair that's out-of-pocket? How could that possibly threaten your other work? You could just put a disclaimer on the invoice, something like customer requested non OEM repair, no warranty, expressed or implied. Bondo repairs can last for years when done properly. Like a young child you are claiming that you can't do something when the fact is that you don't want to do it. You don't even want to offer a cheaper option. Never quite give the customer what they want. It can be a profitable business philosophy, no doubt. Potential customers should come in ready to play hardball, because this place will run up the bill at every opportunity.

I can’t recommend Sam at Texas Auto Center enough! From the moment I walked in, he treated me with honesty, professionalism, and genuine care. After dealing with a stressful car situation, Sam took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me updated throughout the process, and made sure I understood exactly what was being done. What stood out the most was that I never felt pressured or taken advantage of. He went above and beyond to help me find the best solution while keeping my budget in mind. It’s rare to find someone in the auto industry who is this trustworthy, knowledgeable, and committed to excellent customer service. If you’re looking for a mechanic you can truly rely on, ask for Sam at Texas Auto Center. He turned a stressful experience into a positive one, and I’ll definitely be coming back for any future car needs. Thank you, Sam, for your honesty, hard work, and exceptional service!

I brought my vehicle in back in November because CarMax advised they would be able to use my extended warranty. My car was at this shop for two weeks. It took one week to be diagnosed and for the inspector to approve the part. Initially, it needed a starter, or so we thought. Then the tech further inspected it, and it turned out my car needed a whole new engine. Josh reported to my warranty department that it needed an engine. Josh asked me to contact my warranty because he couldn’t do anything further as the engine was getting approved. Josh, I want to clarify that you didn’t do anything further than that. I contacted my extended warranty, and they assisted me and guided me through the entire process. I contacted my brand dealership, and they took over and were very helpful. Fast forward—this car was not removed; it was released to my warranty towing company. I tried seeing the vehicle during the times I was at this shop, but they refused to even let me near the vehicle, which seemed very odd. I should be entitled to see my vehicle if I please. Now my car was towed from this shop to the brand dealership. Josh recommended not driving it, as it was burning oil within minutes and wasn’t going to make it. The brand dealership just released my vehicle yesterday, washed and everything. I realized there were two scrapes on the rear bumper and one on the driver-side rim. Let’s not mention that there is a missing piece of the shift lock release. The car turns on, and there was no reason for them to even pop that open. I immediately called this auto shop and informed them of what they did to my car. He said, “How are you just seeing your car today when we released the car to you six months ago?” The car was not released six months ago; it was released two months and two weeks ago, and it was not released to me. Josh was the one who released the car to the towing company. Then he said, “Do you realize that you got a new engine because of me?” I told him, “I got a new engine because it was your job to report it—you are the auto shop. The fact that you are justifying yourself instead of addressing the damages you caused to my vehicle is unacceptable. I owned this vehicle for three months before I dropped it off at your shop, and I paid my deductible for the service that you rendered. Your labor was paid for.” These people do not act in good faith. Be careful where you take your vehicle. What they don’t know is that I have contacted the brand dealership, CarMax, and my warranty and gathered proper documentation. They will own up to their mistake, and I will file a claim through insurance so they cover this claim. This isn’t fair.
