We are dissatisfied with the work performed on our 2016 Ram 1500 and would like to share our experience. On October 4, 2025, we brought our truck in to have the catalytic converters replaced. About a month ago, we also had an oil change done at this same shop. Unfortunately, we were not provided with a service sticker or proper documentation for that visit. Shortly after the oil change, we began hearing a ticking noise coming from the engine. We took the truck back to Next Level Exhaust to have it checked, and we were told that the noise was “normal.” However, the noise continued and progressively got louder. Out of concern for further damage, we stopped driving the vehicle and arranged for another mechanic to inspect it. The mechanic diagnosed the truck with a lifter rod issue. While completing that repair, the mechanic also identified several concerns related to the previous work performed: The heat shields on both exhaust manifolds were damaged during the catalytic converter replacement. Some bolts were broken and left in place. The catalytic converter appears to have been improperly installed and positioned. The O2 sensor is rubbing against a nearby copper line, which may lead to further damage over time due to vibration. If not for the lifter rod issue, these concerns may not have been discovered, which is concerning. As a result of these issues, we have incurred over $2,000 in additional repair costs. This has been both frustrating and unexpected, especially after bringing the vehicle back and being told the noise was normal, even as it became worse. We would appreciate the opportunity to have this matter addressed and resolved appropriately.
