Freedom Ford by Ed Morse Service Center

Took a 2017 F-350 in for a diagnostic for a P20EE “def” code that came up. Got a call 5 days later that said that the dpf filter was 90% clogged and couldn’t be burnt off. Then they came back and said they’d have to replace the whole DEF system that would cost $7,500!!! And claimed it had an oil leak and coolant leak. To find out when we got the paperwork they fictitiously stated that the guests “us” reported the oil leak, coolant leak, and a handful of other things that we didn’t report. Then they proceeded to replace the fuel filters, brake pads, rotors, wiper blades and air filter without asking if they could first! The total in repairs were going to be $15,000!!!! We ended up taking it to another mechanic shop and they found out that the problem with the def system was a $500 nox sensor and the dpf filter wasn’t clogged at all. But didn’t get out of Freedom ford without getting snake bit with over $8,000 in hidden fees and things we didn’t ask for them to fix. 0/10!!!DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE!!!!!

I believe they leave their garage air compressor running 24/7 as about every 30 seconds the excess pressure would hiss out loudly for 8 seconds. This happened ALL night long. Could hear it from the adjacent hotel. Had to drown out the noise with the AC fan. Surprised the hotel hasn’t given them grief over it.

I bring my wifee's car to Freedom Ford in Greenville for regular service (oil change, tire rotation, etc) and usually deal with a service representative Charity Tant; she is very friendly and assures the services done are satisfactory to me. Today, she wasn't here and Heather was my service rep; she is also very friendly and helpful. It seems like Freedom Ford only hires top quality people, and I appreciate that.

Subject: Deceptive Practices and Hidden Fees at Freedom Ford Service I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received at Freedom Ford in early March 2025 for a scheduled oil change and tire rotation. I had a 10:30 AM appointment and presented a coupon for $79.95, which included an oil and filter change (up to 5 quarts), tire rotation, brake inspection, multi-point inspection, and fluid level check. Service Advisor Heather Bobenhausen checked me in, stating the service would take approximately an hour. True to her word, the service was completed on time. However, the positive experience ended there. Upon reviewing the invoice, I discovered an additional, undisclosed fee for "shop towels and rags." This fee was not mentioned on the coupon or during the check-in process. When I questioned Ms. Bobenhausen about this charge, she insisted it was a mandatory fee, regardless of the coupon's terms. This blatant attempt to impose hidden charges is unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of transparency and integrity. I refused to pay the extra fee and requested to speak with a manager. Thankfully, the manager reviewed the coupon and acknowledged the error, ultimately reimbursing me for the overcharge. How many more customers were not reimbursed by the Service Advisor? While I appreciate the manager rectifying the situation, the fact that such deceptive practices are employed in the first place is deeply concerning. I wasted valuable time disputing an unfair charge, and I am left with a strong distrust of Freedom Ford's service department. I urge potential customers to be wary of hidden fees and to scrutinize their invoices carefully. This experience has significantly damaged my trust in Freedom Ford, and I will not be returning for future service. I strongly recommend that the dealership review its billing practices to ensure transparency and fairness for its customers.

2 1/2 hours wait time for a new tire with an appointment. Said tried to figure out fob key that failed me before and just changed battery. Still shouldn't be 2 1/2 hours.
